Sample interview questions
I would begin with discovery sessions to map the current state, clarify ownership, identify exceptions, and define measurable outcomes. I would assess whether a declarative solution using Flow and standardized objects can meet the need, design for bulk processing and maintainability, validate security implications, and document the process before testing it with representative users.
I would establish clear system-of-record rules, required-field and validation standards, duplicate-management logic, and data stewardship ownership. For integrations, I would use monitored error handling, reconciliation reports, unique external IDs where appropriate, and scheduled audits to identify failures, stale records, and conflicting updates.
I first determine the scope and business impact, then review integration logs, API responses, authentication status, field mappings, record IDs, and recent deployment changes. I also verify governor-limit exposure, middleware transformations, retry behavior, and whether the issue is caused by Salesforce configuration, the external system, or data quality.
I use a documented change-management process with requirements, impact assessment, sandbox development, peer review, user acceptance testing, deployment checklists, and rollback plans. I communicate release timing and user-facing changes clearly, avoid high-risk production changes during critical business periods, and monitor results after deployment.
I would collect the requests in a transparent intake process and evaluate each by business impact, urgency, risk, effort, dependencies, and alignment with roadmap priorities. I would then propose a prioritized plan with stakeholders, communicate tradeoffs, deliver quick wins where appropriate, and ensure strategic work is not displaced by unplanned low-impact requests.
