This is a 3–6 month Product Data Analyst internship within Binance’s Accelerator Program for current students or recent graduates. The intern will support product analytics through funnel analysis, A/B test evaluation, dashboard development, ad-hoc analysis, SQL pipelines, and data-quality monitoring. Strong SQL, foundational Python or R, visualization, and statistical experimentation knowledge are central to the role. The position requires English and Mandarin to coordinate with overseas partners and stakeholders. It offers hands-on exposure to product strategy, user behavior, and large-scale data infrastructure in a fast-moving crypto environment.

Sample interview questions
I would first define each funnel event and the intended user sequence, then calculate user counts and conversion rates between stages for a consistent time period. I would segment results by factors such as platform, geography, acquisition channel, or user cohort to isolate meaningful differences. Finally, I would validate event quality, identify the largest or most actionable drop-off, and propose a hypothesis for follow-up analysis or experimentation.
I would confirm that assignment is randomized and mutually exclusive, verify sample sizes and exposure dates, and check for sample-ratio mismatch or unexpected cohort imbalance. I would validate that tracking is complete and that the primary metric is defined consistently for both variants. Before drawing conclusions, I would evaluate statistical significance, confidence intervals, effect size, and practical business impact.
I would identify the eligible user population, such as users active or registered during the relevant period, and join it to feature-event data. Using a CTE, I would find each user’s first eligible date and determine whether they completed the feature event within seven days. I would then divide distinct adopters by distinct eligible users, while excluding test accounts and validating time-zone and event-definition consistency.
I would state that the observed difference was not statistically conclusive and provide the estimated uplift and confidence interval rather than calling it a win or loss. I would explain whether the test may have been underpowered, too short, or affected by data-quality concerns. I would recommend a clear next step, such as extending the experiment, refining the hypothesis, or reviewing segmented behavior for potential insights.
I would document metric definitions, source tables, filters, refresh schedules, and ownership so users understand what each number represents. I would add data-quality checks for missing data, unexpected volume changes, duplicate events, and pipeline failures. I would also reconcile key dashboard metrics against trusted source queries regularly and notify stakeholders when definitions or tracking change.

We are looking for a motivated Product Data Analyst Intern to join our Product DA team. You will work alongside senior analysts on real product analytics projects — including conversion funnel analysis, A/B experiment evaluation, and dashboard building. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain exposure to product strategy, experiment-driven decision making, and large-scale data infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and analyzing user conversion funnels, identifying drop-off points and improvement opportunities
- Support A/B experiment evaluation: pull experiment data, validate cohort allocation (sanity checks), calculate uplift metrics, and summarize results
- Build and maintain dashboards for key product metrics (CTR, conversion rate, UV/PV)
- Respond to product team ad-hoc data requests — user segmentation, feature adoption tracking, campaign performance analysis
- Write and maintain SQL queries for scheduled data pipelines; assist in data quality monitoring
- Translate data findings into clear summaries and visualizations for product teams
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Data Science, or related field)
- Internship experience in product analytics or related data analysis roles preferred
- A natural curiosity to identify, investigate and explain trends and patterns in data
- Bilingual English/Mandarin is required to be able to coordinate with overseas partners and stakeholders.
- Understanding of A/B testing fundamentals (hypothesis testing, p-value, confidence intervals)
- Strong logical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
- Fast learner with curiosity about product strategy and user behavior
- Competency in one or more of the following:
- SQL (able to write complex queries with CTEs, window functions, subqueries)
- Programming (Python/R for data manipulation)
- A data visualization tool (e.g. DataWind, Tableau, PowerBI)
Nice to Have
- Experience with event tracking / behavioral analytics (Sensors, Mixpanel, GA)
- Familiarity with Airflow or data scheduling tools
- Interest in crypto/fintech industry
- Prior experience with large-scale data (Hive/Spark environment)
