Sample interview questions
I would begin with customer, sales, partner, and analyst research to define each market's buyers, priorities, risk language, and purchase triggers. I would establish distinct value propositions and proof points for cloud and OT audiences, then connect both to a shared exposure-management outcome: visibility, prioritization, risk reduction, and benchmarking. This would be operationalized through message architecture, persona-based content, and sales enablement.
I would define success metrics before launch across readiness, awareness, engagement, pipeline, revenue influence, adoption, and customer feedback. Examples include enablement completion, campaign conversion, sourced and influenced pipeline, product usage, win-rate movement, and qualitative sales feedback. I would use a recurring dashboard and post-launch review to identify gaps and prioritize optimization.
I set clear business outcomes, role ownership, decision rights, and shared operating rhythms while allowing each manager to develop domain expertise. I use regular one-on-ones, launch reviews, and cross-portfolio planning to maintain alignment and remove blockers. Coaching focuses on strategic thinking, executive communication, measurable impact, and career development.
I would create structured feedback loops through field interviews, win-loss analysis, deal reviews, advisory groups, and enablement sessions. I would synthesize recurring objections, competitive issues, and buyer needs into actionable recommendations for product, pricing, messaging, and content. Closing the loop with sales is essential, so I would communicate what changed and measure whether the response improves field effectiveness.
I prioritize work against business impact, customer urgency, and launch commitments, with explicit trade-offs when new requests arise. A quarterly plan establishes strategic direction, while weekly operating reviews enable rapid adjustment without losing focus on core outcomes. I delegate ownership clearly, use concise decision frameworks, and ensure stakeholders understand priorities, timelines, and success measures.

In this role, you will lead product marketing for Tenable’s Cloud Exposure (CNAPP) and Operational Technology (OT) solutions, with Product Marketing Managers aligned to each area reporting to you. These are two distinct buyer worlds, and a core part of this role is understanding those differences well enough to build credible, differentiated messaging for each, while also connecting both to Tenable’s broader exposure management narrative so customers see one coherent platform story. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Marketing, you will interface and regularly collaborate with a variety of departments across Tenable and play a key role in successfully executing product launches, enablement programs and demand generation campaigns for both the cloud security and OT businesses. You will leverage analytics, establish benchmarks, and gain feedback to identify program success and opportunities for improvement.

- Ensure cloud and OT positioning reinforces Tenable’s overall exposure management platform narrative
- Create clear and compelling content for sales collateral, solution briefs, blog posts, website, webcasts, trade shows, and related activities to drive market demand and awareness for both businesses
- Identify key technology partnership / co-marketing opportunities and new routes to market

- Take ownership of results by measuring the effectiveness of campaigns and launch activities with data-driven insights and performance tracking
- Actively participate in analyst relations and public relations initiatives
- Participate in webcasts, events and other demand generation activities
- Guide and contribute to sales and partner enablement across both product areas
- Serve as a voice of the sales team to the product development organization
- Manage and develop Product Marketing Managers aligned to cloud security and OT, including setting priorities and ensuring alignment across both go-to-market strategies
- Recruit, onboard and train new hires
- Provide mentorship, guidance and career development to members of the team
- Create an inclusive, supportive environment where all team members can do their best work
- Evaluate performance of the team, including quarterly performance feedback for each team member; complete annual reviews and recommend rewards (merit/promotion/equity) based on performance for the review period
- Partner with manager on budget requests and spending for strategy and team development needs
- Provide input on yearly budget for planned strategy as well as for the team (T&E, etc.)
- Must have ability to travel in the US up to 20% of time
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- 12+ years of high-tech product marketing or similar experience; 7+ years’ experience as a direct people manager
- Hybrid: Ability to commute to our Columbia, MD headquarters OR Boston, MA office – 3 days per week.
