Sample interview questions
Describe a GSI partnership you expanded from an initial relationship into a meaningful revenue channel.

I would outline the partner’s starting position, map the executive and field stakeholders, create a joint value proposition, and establish a business plan with measurable pipeline, enablement, and revenue milestones. I would then explain how regular governance and co-selling motions converted the strategy into repeatable field execution.

How would you position Keyfactor within a global systems integrator’s cybersecurity and identity portfolio?

I would identify the GSI’s priority client use cases and architecture patterns, then align Keyfactor’s machine identity and cryptographic trust capabilities to those offerings. The objective would be to make Keyfactor easy for the partner to sell, implement, and support through clear reference architectures, packaged services, and practical enablement.

How do you create accountability in a joint business plan when you do not directly manage the partner’s sales team?

I use jointly agreed objectives, named owners, leading indicators, and a consistent governance cadence. I focus on mutually beneficial outcomes, including trained sellers, qualified opportunities, joint account plans, and executive sponsorship, while escalating blockers through the appropriate partner leadership channels.

What metrics would you use to assess the health of a global GSI alliance?

I would track sourced and influenced pipeline, bookings, win rate, forecast accuracy, active joint opportunities, number of enabled partner personnel, solution adoption, and executive engagement. I would also review delivery readiness and partner feedback because a healthy alliance must be able to implement successfully, not just generate leads.

How would you handle a situation where a strategic GSI is prioritizing a competitor’s solution?

I would first understand the commercial, technical, and relationship factors driving the preference. Then I would re-engage the relevant executives and practice leaders with a differentiated joint value proposition, targeted customer use cases, enablement support, and a concrete plan to prove value through selected opportunities or a pilot.
