Sample interview questions
I would begin by segmenting target accounts by industry fit, advertising maturity, likely programmatic use cases, and buying-center structure. I would develop persona-specific outreach tied to measurable marketing outcomes, run coordinated multichannel sequences, and qualify opportunities against clear discovery criteria before prioritizing follow-up. I would review conversion metrics weekly to refine messaging, account selection, and activity allocation.
I would establish measurable business outcomes first, such as qualified reach, conversion efficiency, or campaign performance. I would identify the economic buyer, map decision criteria and process, validate the prospect's pain, develop an internal champion, and assess competition. I would document each element in the CRM so that next steps, deal risk, and forecast confidence are based on evidence rather than optimism.
I would avoid beginning with platform mechanics and instead start with the executive's business objective. For example, I would connect optimization and audience capabilities to outcomes such as reaching relevant decision-makers efficiently, improving campaign measurement, and reducing wasted spend. I would then use a concise example, supported by relevant proof points, and confirm that the proposed solution aligns with their priorities.
I would revisit the decision process and clarify whether the delay reflects timing, insufficient urgency, an unaddressed stakeholder, or an unresolved risk. I would work with my champion to create a mutual action plan with agreed owners, milestones, and a defined business case. If urgency is genuinely low, I would maintain a purposeful nurture plan while focusing active selling time on opportunities with validated next steps.
I use stage definitions tied to verifiable buyer actions, not seller activity, and inspect each opportunity for decision process, stakeholder alignment, commercial requirements, and next-step quality. I regularly compare historical conversion and cycle-time data against current pipeline assumptions. I also communicate risks early, separating committed opportunities from upside so leadership can make reliable decisions.
