Sample interview questions
How have you built relationships with insurance brokers or other channel partners in a new territory?

I begin by segmenting the territory by broker size, specialty, existing carrier relationships, and likelihood to benefit from the solution. I use targeted outreach to secure discovery meetings, establish credibility through relevant industry insight, and create joint account plans with engaged partners. I track partner activity and pipeline stages in a CRM, then reinforce adoption through consistent follow-up, training, and shared wins.

How would you position CompScience's computer-vision risk-assessment solution to a workers' compensation broker?

I would focus on the broker's ability to differentiate their offering and help clients reduce preventable workplace injuries. I would connect CompScience's perception-based risk insights to practical outcomes: earlier identification of hazardous behaviors and conditions, stronger safety conversations, and data that can support risk-management recommendations. I would tailor the message to the broker's book of business, client risk profile, and carrier relationships.

Describe your approach to cold calling and converting a prospect into an active opportunity.

I research the prospect's specialty, client base, and likely risk-management priorities before contacting them. My outreach uses a concise, relevant hypothesis about a business problem rather than a generic product pitch, followed by a clear request for a short discovery conversation. During discovery, I qualify need, stakeholders, timing, and next steps, and I use a documented follow-up sequence to maintain momentum.

How do you manage a territory when travel consumes 50–60% of your time?

I plan travel in geographic clusters around high-value meetings, partner visits, and industry events so each trip advances multiple opportunities. I reserve non-travel time for prospecting, proposal preparation, CRM hygiene, and internal coordination, while using virtual meetings for early-stage qualification. Weekly territory reviews help me prioritize activities against pipeline coverage and revenue goals.

Tell us about a time you had to coordinate internally to deliver a complex solution for a customer.

In a prior role, I aligned sales, implementation, and subject-matter teams early around the customer's goals, timeline, decision criteria, and potential risks. I established clear owners and regular checkpoints, communicated progress transparently to the client, and addressed issues before they affected delivery. This collaborative structure helped ensure the commercial commitments matched what the organization could successfully implement.
