Sample interview questions
Describe a complex government or defence sales opportunity that you took from early qualification through contract award.

I would explain how I assessed the customer’s mission need, mapped decision-makers and procurement constraints, developed a capture plan, coordinated technical and commercial contributors, and maintained an evidence-based forecast. I would quantify the outcome where possible and highlight lessons from the pursuit.

How would you build a pipeline for sovereign satellite and ISR missions in the Nordic market?

I would prioritize accounts based on national security, defence modernization, intelligence, and resilience priorities; then combine existing relationships, targeted stakeholder mapping, industry engagement, and partner intelligence. Each opportunity would be qualified against mission urgency, funding, procurement route, competitive position, and ICEYE’s ability to deliver differentiated value.

How do you communicate a technical SAR or earth-observation capability to non-technical government decision-makers?

I would begin with the operational outcome rather than the technology, such as persistent all-weather monitoring, faster situational awareness, or sovereign control of intelligence. I would use concise mission scenarios, clear performance trade-offs, and evidence from relevant use cases while bringing technical experts into discussions requiring deeper validation.

What is your approach to managing long and uncertain public-sector procurement cycles?

I maintain structured account and opportunity plans with stakeholder maps, next actions, risks, decision gates, and realistic probability assessments. I create value between formal procurement milestones through mission workshops, technical validation, executive alignment, and regular internal reviews so the team remains prepared without overstating forecast confidence.

How would you handle a bid or no-bid decision for a large competitive mission programme?

I would assess strategic fit, customer access, technical feasibility, funding confidence, procurement requirements, partner needs, competitive differentiation, delivery risk, and expected return. I would present these factors transparently to leadership, recommend a clear course of action, and, if proceeding, establish ownership, win themes, milestones, and review gates.
