Sample interview questions
How do you build a prospecting plan for a new strategic account list?

I segment accounts by fit, likely business trigger, and decision-maker profile, then research each account's priorities and create targeted outreach hypotheses. I use a structured multichannel cadence across email, phone, and LinkedIn, track engagement in the CRM, and adjust messaging based on response patterns and conversion data.

Describe how you handle repeated rejection in an outbound sales role.

I treat rejection as information rather than a personal outcome. I identify whether the issue is timing, targeting, relevance, or messaging, document the learning, and continue executing my process with consistent activity levels while testing better approaches.

How would you explain Toptal's value to a prospective enterprise buyer?

I would first uncover the buyer's delivery, hiring, and capacity challenges. I would then connect Toptal's global network of vetted business, design, and technology talent to outcomes such as faster access to specialized expertise, flexible team scaling, and support for high-priority initiatives.

What metrics would you monitor to manage a healthy sales funnel?

I would monitor outbound activity, contact and meeting conversion rates, qualified-opportunity creation, stage-to-stage conversion, pipeline coverage, sales-cycle length, and closed-won results. Reviewing these metrics regularly helps identify where to improve targeting, messaging, follow-up, or qualification.

How do you maintain data integrity in Salesforce while working at a high outreach volume?

I update records immediately after meaningful interactions, use standardized fields and clear next steps, and schedule regular pipeline hygiene reviews. Accurate activity history, contacts, stages, and close-date assumptions allow reliable forecasting and ensure stakeholders have useful account context.
