Sample interview questions
How would you structure and scale a Delivery Solutions Architect team serving emerging-enterprise customers?

I would segment coverage by customer complexity and growth potential, establish clear success measures such as time-to-production, workload adoption, usage growth, and customer health, and create repeatable engagement playbooks. I would coach DSAs through regular architecture reviews, account planning, and skills development while maintaining a feedback loop with Sales, Support, and Product teams.

Describe how you would help a customer move a data and AI workload from concept to production on a lakehouse platform.

I would begin with the business outcome, workload requirements, data sources, security needs, and production service-level expectations. From there, I would guide a target architecture covering ingestion, transformation, governance, orchestration, observability, cost controls, and deployment practices, then define milestones and ownership for a phased production rollout.

How do you manage a technical customer escalation while protecting the long-term relationship?

I first establish a shared fact base, severity level, customer impact, and a clear incident owner. I communicate a practical action plan and update cadence, mobilize the appropriate internal specialists, and ensure the team addresses both immediate recovery and root-cause prevention. After resolution, I conduct a review with the customer and internal stakeholders to rebuild confidence and capture operational improvements.

What metrics would you use to forecast usage growth and assess customer health?

I would combine leading indicators such as onboarding progress, active users, workloads moving through deployment stages, platform utilization, stakeholder engagement, and open risks with lagging indicators such as production workload count, consumption growth, renewal health, and realized business outcomes. The metrics should be visible in a regular operating review and tied to specific customer action plans.

How do you develop technical leaders while maintaining a high bar for architecture quality?

I set explicit technical and behavioral expectations, use architecture and code reviews as coaching opportunities, and create development plans tied to real customer responsibilities. I encourage certifications, peer learning, and ownership of reusable practices, while calibrating performance against customer impact, technical judgment, collaboration, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
