Sample interview questions
I would segment accounts by revenue potential, distribution opportunity, visit cadence, and geographic proximity. I would reserve recurring time for top accounts, cluster visits to reduce drive time, and protect prospecting blocks each week. I would review results in Salesforce and adjust the route based on activity, opportunities, and account needs.
I would first understand the retailer's category objectives and current shelf performance. I would present a concise case using product knowledge, local demand signals, available merchandising programs, and a clear recommendation for placement. After implementation, I would follow up to confirm execution and share results with the account.
I use CRM consistently to document visits, update contact and account information, track follow-up tasks, and maintain a reliable pipeline. This helps me prioritize the best opportunities, avoid missed commitments, and provide management with accurate field insights. I also use activity and conversion data to refine my call plan.
I would listen carefully to identify the underlying concern, whether it was price, space, product fit, or operational effort. I would acknowledge the concern, provide relevant facts and a practical solution, and propose a low-friction next step. I would then follow up promptly to ensure the customer had what they needed to move forward.
I would treat strong relationships as a driver of sustainable KPI performance. I would be prepared for every visit, deliver useful category and product information, follow through on commitments, and make clear asks tied to shared business value. Consistent service and honest communication build trust while supporting distribution, visibility, and conversion goals.
