The role partners with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Revenue Operations to structure complex SaaS deals, govern pricing and discounting, and ensure accurate quote-to-cash execution in Salesforce CPQ/Revenue Cloud. Key work includes creating approval processes, playbooks, training, documentation, and scalable workflow improvements using automation and AI. Sample interview questions
I would first validate the commercial objectives, customer requirements, product and billing feasibility, and expected ARR impact. I would model the financial implications of the ramp, discount, term length, and renewal baseline, then compare the proposal against pricing policy and precedent. Finally, I would document trade-offs, identify required approvals, and present clear options that protect revenue integrity while enabling an executable customer outcome.
I would begin by tracing the quote, opportunity, product, pricing, and contract data to isolate whether the issue comes from configuration, pricing rules, data relationships, or an amendment or renewal process. After validating the desired commercial outcome, I would implement or recommend the smallest scalable fix, test it against relevant scenarios, and document the resolution. I would also review whether a guardrail, workflow, or training update could prevent recurrence.
I would track deal cycle time, approval turnaround time, quote accuracy, exception volume, discount levels, rework rates, SLA attainment, escalation themes, and booking or invoicing errors. I would segment these measures by deal type, size, region, and sales team to identify bottlenecks. The goal is to improve speed and seller experience while maintaining pricing discipline and predictable revenue operations.
I would make the process transparent, practical, and responsive by publishing clear approval thresholds, decision criteria, templates, and examples of acceptable deal structures. When a request cannot be approved as submitted, I would explain the commercial rationale and offer workable alternatives rather than simply blocking progress. Consistent service levels and evidence-based decisions help position Deal Desk as a partner in closing quality business.
An effective use case would be automated intake and triage that extracts key deal attributes, checks for missing information, flags policy exceptions, and routes requests to the appropriate approvers. AI could also summarize deal changes and surface similar approved precedents for analyst review. Any implementation should retain human controls for pricing, contractual commitments, and high-risk exceptions, with accuracy monitoring and documented governance.

How we work with AI
We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. To us, this means we do ask that you join live interviews without using AI tools so we can get to know how you communicate, solve problems, and collaborate with others.
Our approach to work
We recognize the power of both in person collaboration and remote work. Some roles are designated as remote-first, with an expectation that individuals work from their homes majority of the time, while others are designated as in-office roles, with an expectation of being on-site on a regular basis. We recognize that certain roles benefit from regular, in-person connection to support collaboration, team cohesion, and customer engagement.
For all roles, occasional travel may be required. This includes things like: department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events are typically held in varying locations across Canada, USA and/or EMEA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.
