Sample interview questions
How would you balance improvements to the existing ViriCiti platform with investment in a new truck-fleet charging product?

I would establish a shared outcome framework covering customer impact, strategic differentiation, revenue potential, risk, and engineering effort. I would protect essential reliability and customer-experience investments in the existing platform while funding new-product discovery through staged validation milestones, using evidence from fleet customers before committing to scaled delivery.

Describe how you would translate fleet-operator feedback into a product roadmap.

I would combine interviews, workflow observation, support themes, usage data, and commercial input to identify recurring jobs, pain points, and underserved segments. I would quantify frequency and impact, define problem statements and success metrics, then prioritize opportunities transparently with engineering and go-to-market partners.

What technical topics would you expect to discuss with engineering for a fleet software platform?

I would expect to discuss system architecture, API design and integrations, telematics data ingestion, data quality, event processing, permissions, security, scalability, and observability. I do not need to write production code, but I would use technical understanding to clarify trade-offs, sequence dependencies, and make sound product decisions.

How would you measure the success of a new commercial truck charging-management capability?

I would define leading and lagging metrics across adoption, operational efficiency, and business value. Examples include activated fleets, charger and vehicle integration rates, successful managed charging sessions, uptime, reduction in charging-related exceptions, customer retention, and expansion revenue.

Tell us how you communicate a difficult product trade-off to executive leaders and delivery teams.

I would state the decision, the customer and business objective, available options, evidence, risks, and recommended path in a concise narrative. I would tailor the detail for each audience, make assumptions explicit, document follow-up metrics, and ensure teams understand both what is being deferred and why.
