Sample interview questions
I would assess audience fit, genre trends, rights availability, title quality, historical sales or listening signals, creator reach, pricing economics, and operational readiness. I would then model expected listening performance and cost per content hour, while considering strategic benefits such as catalog differentiation and long-term partner potential.
I start by understanding the partner's goals, rights position, and constraints, then build a fact-based proposal that aligns economics, term length, territory, reporting, marketing support, and operational requirements. I aim to create transparency early, identify trade-offs, and document clear terms that support a sustainable relationship after signature.
I would first review title-level performance, metadata quality, merchandising placement, pricing or availability, audience segments, and comparable catalog benchmarks. I would share a clear diagnosis with the partner and coordinate practical actions such as metadata improvements, promotional opportunities, discoverability changes, or targeted audience campaigns, then monitor results together.
I use a prioritization framework based on expected strategic value, revenue or engagement potential, rights urgency, implementation complexity, and relationship risk. I communicate timelines and dependencies early, keep stakeholders informed through a concise deal tracker, and reserve time to address urgent negotiations without losing progress on high-value long-term opportunities.
I would translate partner feedback into concrete themes supported by examples, data, and expected business impact. Rather than only escalating issues, I would propose feasible solutions with Product, Operations, Editorial, and Growth teams, clarify trade-offs, and close the loop with partners on decisions and progress.
