Sample interview questions
How would you approach architecting an integration between an enterprise customer's existing systems and an AI voice platform?

I would begin by clarifying the business outcome, user journeys, technical constraints, and success metrics. Next, I would assess the customer's APIs, authentication model, data flows, latency and reliability requirements, then propose a secure phased architecture with a proof of concept. I would document assumptions, implementation steps, observability needs, and handoff requirements so the solution can scale beyond the initial deployment.

Describe how you would deliver a technical demonstration to both executive and engineering stakeholders.

I would tailor one narrative to the audience while keeping the core business outcome consistent. For executives, I would emphasize customer impact, time to value, reliability, and measurable outcomes; for engineers, I would demonstrate APIs, architecture, integration patterns, security considerations, and operational workflows. I would use a realistic customer scenario and reserve time for deeper technical questions and next steps.

How do you identify which customer requests should become repeatable product features or standardized integration patterns?

I would track recurring requests across customers, quantify their frequency and impact, and distinguish configuration needs from genuinely reusable functionality. I would validate the pattern with sales, support, and product teams, define the expected user value and implementation effort, and propose a reusable template, documentation, or product enhancement. This approach improves customer outcomes while reducing repeated bespoke work.

What practices would you use to make a Python-based customer integration reliable in production?

I would use clear interface boundaries, secure secret management, structured logging, retries with appropriate backoff, idempotent request handling where applicable, and monitoring for errors, latency, and usage. I would also add automated tests for key workflows, document failure modes, and establish alerting and escalation procedures. For AI workflows, I would include evaluation criteria and safeguards that reflect the customer's use case.

How would you handle a situation where an Account Executive promises a customer capability that is not currently available?

I would align with the Account Executive privately and quickly to understand the customer commitment and desired outcome. With the customer, I would be transparent about current capabilities, avoid overpromising, and present viable alternatives, a phased approach, or a clearly qualified roadmap discussion. I would then capture the gap, assess whether it reflects a broader product opportunity, and coordinate with product leadership on next steps.
