Sample interview questions
How would you build a regional event strategy for the U.S. West market?

I would start by aligning target accounts, audience segments, pipeline goals, and regional sales priorities. I would then create a balanced event portfolio across owned experiences, partner events, industry gatherings, and strategic tentpoles, with clear KPIs, budgets, owners, and follow-up workflows for each program.

Describe how you measure event marketing success beyond attendance.

I measure performance across registrations, attendance quality, target-account engagement, meetings set, influenced pipeline, opportunities created, conversion rates, cost per attendee, and post-event feedback. I also partner with Marketing Ops and Sales to ensure timely lead capture, list uploads, attribution, and follow-up.

Tell us about a time you had to manage competing event priorities under a tight deadline.

I would prioritize work by business impact, event immovability, risk, and stakeholder dependency. I would establish a detailed run-of-show, assign clear owners, communicate status and decisions early, and maintain contingency plans for vendors, shipping, staffing, and attendee changes.

How do you ensure consistent branding across events managed by different vendors and partners?

I provide approved messaging, creative standards, audience objectives, booth or activation specifications, and review checkpoints before production. I also conduct pre-event quality checks and use post-event debriefs to document improvements for future programs.

How would you collaborate with sales and channel partners on an account-based event program?

I would jointly identify priority accounts and partner audiences, define the event’s desired action, and tailor invitations and experiences accordingly. Before the event, I would align on outreach and meeting goals; afterward, I would provide engagement insights and coordinate a structured follow-up plan tied to pipeline outcomes.
