Sample interview questions
How would you structure a technical discovery session for an enterprise evaluating a Zero Trust security platform?

I would begin by aligning on business drivers, critical applications, user populations, current architecture, and measurable security or operational pain points. I would then map stakeholders, validate technical constraints such as identity, network, and endpoint dependencies, and agree on success criteria that can be tested during a proof of concept.

Describe how you would explain the value of a cloud-delivered security platform to both a CISO and a network operations leader.

For the CISO, I would focus on risk reduction, consistent policy enforcement, visibility, and protection of users and data wherever they connect. For network operations, I would emphasize simplified architecture, reduced reliance on backhauling traffic, operational resilience, and a practical migration path that minimizes disruption.

What steps would you take to prepare and deliver an effective technical demonstration?

I would tailor the demonstration to validated customer priorities rather than present generic features. I would use a concise storyline showing the current challenge, the relevant workflows and policies, the security outcome, and how the platform integrates with the customer's environment, while preparing a backup environment and clear follow-up actions.

How do Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, and SAML fit into an enterprise security deployment?

They provide the identity context needed to apply access policies consistently. I would assess the customer's identity source, group structure, authentication flows, and attribute requirements, then demonstrate how identity-driven controls can enforce least-privilege access and improve user experience.

Tell us about your approach when a proof of concept encounters unexpected technical issues or unclear customer requirements.

I would communicate early, isolate the issue using a structured troubleshooting plan, and distinguish platform behavior from environmental dependencies. I would reset expectations with the customer, document findings and owners, and preserve momentum by prioritizing the agreed success criteria and proposing a clear path to resolution.
