The role, at a glance.
MaintainX is hiring a mobile platform engineer to build React Native foundations, tooling, SDKs, CI pipelines, and developer workflows for internal product teams. The role focuses on making mobile feature delivery faster, safer, and more consistent through reusable platform primitives and strong Mobile DevOps practices. The engineer will partner with platform and product teams to drive adoption of an internal developer platform supporting more than 150 developers. Candidates need at least four years of mobile engineering experience, expert React Native knowledge, and experience creating shared modules and cross-team components. Strong written and spoken English is required to align engineering leaders and present priorities to executive stakeholders.

Sample interview questions
I start by identifying stable, broadly useful interfaces and gathering requirements from consuming teams. I define a versioned API, documentation, examples, automated tests, and a release process, then use adoption feedback to improve the module without creating unnecessary breaking changes.
I would first measure build duration, failure causes, queue time, test reliability, and release lead time. I would then prioritize deterministic builds, dependency caching, parallelized tests, clear artifact management, automated signing, and actionable failure reporting.
I would provide a documented, opinionated starter workflow covering local setup, project structure, shared components, testing, analytics, feature flags, CI checks, and release procedures. The golden path should remove repetitive decisions while remaining easy to extend for legitimate product needs.
I standardize high-leverage foundations such as build tooling, security, observability, release controls, and common UI primitives, while leaving product-specific implementation choices to feature teams. I validate standards through pilot teams, adoption metrics, and feedback rather than enforcing tools without evidence of value.
I would use AI to accelerate tasks such as code exploration, documentation drafts, test generation, and operational troubleshooting, while retaining engineering review and automated validation. I would also establish guidance for protecting sensitive information, evaluating generated code, and measuring whether the workflows improve quality or delivery speed.
About this role.
MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 13,000 customers, including Duracell, McDonald’s, Shell, DHL and Volvo, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.
In August 2026 MaintainX became part of Autodesk, joining Autodesk Operations Solutions, the organization unifying Autodesk’s operations platform alongside Tandem, FlexSim and Fusion Operations. Autodesk’s strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design. Autodesk had design and make. Operate is the phase that tells you what actually happened, and it is ours.
We’re growing fast and hiring the Engineering talent to match.
You’d be joining our Mobile team within the Platform Engineering division. We treat our internal developer platform as a real product, with internal customers (our feature teams, 150+ developers) and adoption metrics. The mission for this role: make it dramatically faster and safer to ship mobile features at MaintainX.
Today, feature teams reinvent patterns, fight with build infrastructure, and ship slower than they should because the foundations underneath them are inconsistent. We want a mobile foundation where feature teams stop thinking about CI, release trains, shared components, and observability, they just build features.
What you’ll do:
Design, build, and maintain mobile React Native foundations and tooling powering our internal developer platform.
Bring AI native workflows into your daily work and into the platform.
Raise engineering excellence standards.
Lead to the consolidation and evolution of platform primitives: SDKs, CI pipelines, build tools, local development golden paths.
Collaborate with other platform teams and product development teams on defining and adopting the internal developer platform.
About you:
4+ years of mobile engineering experience
Expert in React Native
Proficient building shared modules, SDKs, and reusable components for cross-team use.
Strong understanding of Mobile DevOps
Strong AI mindset
An expert level of English, both spoken and written, is required, as the individual will need to lead platform engineering managers across multiple teams, present technical priorities to executive stakeholders, and align with engineering leaders outside Québec on a daily basis.
Our mission is to keep the physical world running. Factories, fleets, hospitals and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using. That is what we build.
Compensation and benefits. Base pay is one part of the package. Depending on the role, compensation may also include commission, an annual bonus and equity. Benefits differ by country. For roles in the United States, Autodesk’s benefits are described at benefits.autodesk.com. For roles in Canada and other countries, the plan differs on health coverage, retirement and leave, and your recruiter will walk you through it.
Belonging. We take pride in a culture where everyone can thrive. More at autodesk.com/company/global-belonging. More on where this is going: Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost on building the future of connected operations, and AOS SVP Stephen Hooper on welcoming MaintainX to Autodesk.
