Sample interview questions
I begin with a structured account plan that maps stakeholders, current adoption, business priorities, and whitespace. Through discovery and usage reviews, I identify outcomes the customer wants to improve, build a value case with relevant technical and business partners, and create a mutual action plan to progress the expansion.
I would first understand the customer's operational goals, deployment model, and observability challenges. I would position Grafana Cloud where managed capabilities, scale, faster time to value, or integrated telemetry workflows address those goals, while ensuring the recommendation complements the customer's existing Grafana investment.
I maintain clear stage exit criteria, regularly validate customer commitment and decision process, and document risks and next steps in Salesforce. I distinguish pipeline from forecast based on evidence such as an identified champion, confirmed business problem, timeline, commercial process, and mutual close plan.
I adapt my engagement style to local business practices while maintaining a consistent discovery and qualification framework. I invest in relationship building, identify local decision-makers and influencers, communicate clearly in the customer's preferred language where possible, and align internal resources to the account's technical and commercial needs.
In a competitive cycle, I focus on uncovering the customer's evaluation criteria and differentiating on measurable business outcomes rather than feature comparisons alone. I engage technical and executive stakeholders early, validate the value through a proof of concept when appropriate, and use a mutual action plan to keep momentum and reduce uncertainty.
