Sample interview questions
I would explain the event's objectives, audience, footprint, vendor structure, budget, and timeline, then describe how I managed credentials, hospitality, programming, creative assets, executive schedules, and contingency planning. I would close with measurable outcomes such as attendance, qualified meetings, pipeline influence, stakeholder satisfaction, and budget performance.
I establish a master event calendar and a detailed workback plan for each event with owners, dependencies, approval dates, budget status, and risk flags. I run regular cross-functional check-ins, maintain a single source of truth, and escalate decisions early when timing, scope, or budget could affect delivery.
I begin with a clear scope of work, evaluation criteria, budget guardrails, and service-level expectations. After selection, I negotiate terms, maintain milestone-based payment schedules, track deliverables and invoices, and conduct a post-event review to assess performance and future suitability.
I would align measurement to each event's purpose, combining operational metrics such as budget variance and attendance with commercial measures such as executive meetings, lead quality, opportunity influence, pipeline, and partner engagement. I would also capture qualitative stakeholder feedback and use a consistent reporting framework to compare investments across events.
I would describe rapidly assessing attendee, brand, financial, and timeline impacts; activating backup vendors or alternate plans; and communicating concise options and recommendations to decision-makers. My priority would be to protect the attendee experience while documenting decisions, maintaining budget control, and conducting a retrospective after the event.
