Sample interview questions
How would you troubleshoot a charging station that fails to connect during activation?

I would first review the activation logs and confirm power, network status, SIM provisioning, and signal strength. I would then isolate whether the issue is cellular, site-network, configuration, or hardware related, document the findings, and coordinate the appropriate field or engineering escalation if remote remediation is not successful.

Describe how you prioritize multiple urgent customer escalations.

I prioritize by safety impact, station uptime, customer impact, activation deadlines, and whether an issue affects multiple units. I provide customers with clear status updates, track actions in the case system, and reassess priorities as new technical information becomes available.

What information should be captured before escalating a hardware defect to engineering?

I would include station identifiers, firmware and configuration details, timestamps, error codes, connectivity diagnostics, troubleshooting steps already completed, site conditions, and any technician observations. Complete evidence reduces back-and-forth and helps engineering reproduce the issue.

How have you worked effectively with field technicians and non-technical customers?

I tailor communication to the audience: technicians receive precise diagnostic steps and technical context, while customers receive clear explanations, expected timelines, and ownership of next actions. In both cases, I confirm understanding and document commitments in the support platform.

Why is accurate documentation important in deployment support?

Accurate records create continuity across teams, support trend analysis, and make escalations faster and more reliable. They also help identify recurring failure patterns, improve processes, and ensure customers receive consistent information throughout the activation lifecycle.
