Sample interview questions
How would you manage several customer onboarding projects with overlapping go-live dates?

I would create a standardized onboarding plan for each customer with clear milestones, owners, due dates, and risk indicators. I would review the portfolio regularly, prioritize blocked or high-risk accounts, and communicate proactive updates to both customers and internal partners.

Describe how you would lead a training call for a shop owner who is uncomfortable with new software.

I would first understand their current workflow and goals, then tailor the session around practical tasks they need to complete each day. I would use clear, non-technical language, demonstrate key actions, invite them to practice, and follow up with concise resources and next steps.

What would you do if a customer becomes unresponsive during implementation?

I would confirm the customer's preferred contact method, send a concise message that explains the impact of the delay, and offer specific times or simple actions to restart momentum. If engagement remains stalled, I would document outreach, assess account risk, and coordinate an escalation plan with the appropriate internal teams.

How do you measure whether a newly onboarded customer is adopting a product successfully?

I would combine qualitative feedback with usage data, such as completion of setup milestones, use of core workflows, training attendance, and progress toward the customer's stated goals. I would use those signals to identify gaps early and recommend targeted training or best practices.

Tell us about a time you handled an upset customer or difficult escalation.

I would listen without becoming defensive, acknowledge the specific impact on the customer, and clarify the facts and desired outcome. I would then set a realistic action plan, involve the right internal stakeholders, provide regular updates, and document the resolution so the issue is less likely to recur.
