Sample interview questions
I would begin by defining the target audience, their key problem, the desired perception change, and the business objective. I would then develop a content narrative, select the most appropriate owned channels and formats, build an editorial calendar, and align distribution with demand, social, and web partners. I would define success metrics before launch and use performance data to refine the program.
I use a planning cadence that establishes core themes, channel priorities, owners, and deadlines, while reserving capacity for timely opportunities. I stay close to production by writing, editing, briefing contributors, and removing workflow blockers. This keeps the strategy practical and ensures that the work ships at a consistent quality level.
I would measure reach and qualified engagement, including organic traffic, time on page or completion rate, repeat audience behavior, shares, newsletter performance, and content-assisted conversions where attribution is available. I would also assess qualitative signals such as sales-team adoption, executive feedback, and the strength of audience responses. The metric mix should reflect whether the content goal is awareness, engagement, or demand creation.
I would provide a concise brief with audience insight, positioning, voice guidelines, deliverables, acceptance criteria, milestones, and a clear review process. I would hold regular working sessions to resolve questions early, give actionable feedback tied to objectives, and track delivery against scope and deadlines. After launch, I would share performance learnings to improve future work together.
I would create a single editorial framework connecting pre-event awareness, onsite engagement, and post-event amplification. That plan would map audiences, themes, executive and customer stories, channel formats, deadlines, and owners across podcast, blog, web, paid media, and attendee materials. I would also establish governance for session copy, presentations, signage, and messaging so the attendee experience remains cohesive.
