Sample interview questions
How would you create a roadmap for a portfolio of G&A and Finance systems?

I would begin with stakeholder interviews, system-usage data, process pain points, risk assessment, and current technical constraints. I would translate the findings into prioritized initiatives using business impact, effort, compliance risk, and dependencies, then maintain a transparent roadmap with measurable outcomes and regular review cycles.

Describe your approach to managing an integration between an ERP and a CRM or billing platform.

I first define the business process, system-of-record ownership, data model, field mappings, error-handling rules, and security requirements. I then coordinate testing across normal, edge-case, and failure scenarios, document the integration thoroughly, and establish monitoring and ownership for ongoing support.

How do you ensure system configurations remain consistent and auditable over time?

I use documented configuration standards, change-control procedures, role-based access, release checklists, and a clear approval process. I also maintain configuration documentation and conduct periodic reviews to identify drift, unused features, or changes that create operational risk.

How would you identify and prioritize AI use cases for internal business systems?

I would focus on repeatable, high-volume workflows where better insights, classification, summarization, or automation can reduce manual effort without creating unacceptable risk. Each use case should have defined data quality requirements, privacy controls, success metrics, a pilot plan, and human review where decisions are consequential.

Tell us how you handle conflicting requests from senior stakeholders.

I make the trade-offs visible by clarifying desired outcomes, urgency, dependencies, risk, and resource requirements for each request. I use an agreed prioritization framework, communicate decisions clearly, and propose phased delivery or alternatives when multiple high-priority initiatives cannot be completed simultaneously.
