Sample interview questions
I establish clear principles and quality standards, then use structured critiques that focus on the objective, audience, and execution rather than subjective preference. I pair regular feedback with reusable templates and systems so quality improvements make work faster over time.
I start with an audit of existing assets and recurring use cases, define core visual rules and components, and document them in an accessible library. I introduce governance through ownership, review processes, and adoption metrics so the system remains consistent while accommodating new channels and markets.
I evaluate requests against business impact, audience reach, urgency, effort, and strategic importance. I make trade-offs transparent, align priorities with stakeholders, and use capacity planning to determine which work belongs with internal staff versus external partners.
I set role-specific expectations and development plans, provide direct and actionable feedback, and give designers ownership appropriate to their experience. I also create shared learning opportunities through critiques, peer reviews, and exposure to strategic decisions.
I test it against a defined use case and assess output quality, speed, brand-control risks, security, and accessibility. If it creates measurable value, I establish guidelines, train the team, and monitor results before scaling adoption.
