Sample interview questions
How have you managed a high volume of contracts and legal requests across multiple business teams?

I use a centralized intake and tracking process that captures request priority, owner, deadlines, risk level, and required approvals. I establish standard templates and escalation paths for recurring matters, then communicate realistic timelines so business partners can plan effectively.

Describe your experience reviewing real-estate or construction-related agreements.

I have reviewed and managed revisions to agreements such as service contracts, purchase and sale agreements, NDAs, subcontractor documents, and property-related records. My focus is on ensuring that key commercial terms, risk allocation, insurance requirements, obligations, and approval processes are accurately documented and escalated to counsel when needed.

What is your approach to reviewing subcontractor insurance documentation?

I compare certificates and policy terms against contractual insurance requirements, including coverage type, limits, endorsements, additional-insured status, and expiration dates. I document gaps promptly, coordinate remediation with the relevant vendor or broker, and provide business teams with practical risk-based guidance.

How would you support a homeowner dispute that could develop into litigation?

I would preserve and organize relevant agreements, communications, project records, and warranty documentation, while maintaining a clear chronology of events. I would coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel, track deadlines and strategy decisions, and ensure communications follow established legal guidance.

How do you explain legal risks to non-legal colleagues in sales or construction operations?

I translate the issue into the operational impact, identify the level of risk, and offer practical options with clear trade-offs. I avoid unnecessary legal jargon, document the recommendation and decision, and escalate matters that require attorney review or executive approval.
