Sample interview questions
I would first map the existing telemetry flow, costs, retention requirements, and operational gaps. I would then position the solution around complementary value: improving data control, routing, storage flexibility, investigation speed, and the ability to support both current tools and future use cases.
I begin by aligning on measurable business and technical success criteria, stakeholders, timeline, and data sources. During the engagement, I maintain regular checkpoints, document results and blockers, and conclude with an executive-ready summary that connects the technical outcomes to the customer’s priorities.
For practitioners, I focus on workflows, architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting outcomes. For executives, I emphasize risk reduction, efficiency, cost control, and strategic flexibility; in both cases, I use the customer’s own use cases rather than a generic product tour.
After understanding the initial deployment goal, I would look for adjacent teams, additional data sources, operational bottlenecks, and governance requirements. I would validate those needs with the account team, demonstrate the relevant capabilities, and build a phased expansion plan tied to customer outcomes.
I prioritize work based on deal stage, customer impact, strategic value, and required preparation time. I make commitments visible to sales partners, use clear success plans for active evaluations, and communicate early when trade-offs or additional technical resources are needed.
