Sample interview questions
I first clarify the audience, objective, key message, channel, brand constraints, and delivery requirements. I then develop a concise concept and storyboard, seek alignment early, produce an initial edit or animation pass, and use structured feedback rounds to refine pacing, visuals, audio, and final exports.
I preserve the core message and visual system while adjusting aspect ratio, duration, hooks, captions, safe areas, pacing, and calls to action for each platform. I plan these variants early so the source files, compositions, and exports can be efficiently repurposed without weakening brand consistency.
A strong portfolio shows more than technical effects: it demonstrates clear storytelling, design judgment, typography, timing, brand awareness, and a range of formats. I also value concise project context that explains the brief, my contribution, creative decisions, and the final outcome.
I assess priorities based on business impact, deadlines, dependencies, and production effort, then communicate a realistic delivery plan. I use organised project files, reusable brand templates, review checkpoints, and a final quality-control checklist to move quickly without compromising details.
I listen for the underlying business or audience concern rather than responding only to requested visual changes. I consolidate feedback, identify conflicts against the brief and brand guidelines, propose clear options when needed, and document agreed decisions so revisions remain focused and efficient.
