Sample interview questions
How would you create a multi-year strategy for a global Professional Services organization?

I would begin with customer, delivery, financial, and capacity data to identify the largest growth and margin opportunities. I would define a target operating model, measurable service-line objectives, talent and partner plans, and a quarterly governance cadence that connects execution metrics to strategic outcomes.

Describe how you have led a large-scale services transformation.

I establish a clear case for change, define the desired operating model, and involve regional and functional leaders early. I use phased implementation, transparent metrics, change champions, and frequent customer feedback to reduce disruption while ensuring improvements in utilization, quality, margin, and customer satisfaction.

How do you balance customer satisfaction with profitability in professional services?

I manage both through disciplined scoping, resource planning, delivery governance, and early risk escalation. I monitor project health, gross margin, utilization, renewal or expansion signals, and customer outcomes so that commercial decisions support sustainable long-term relationships rather than short-term revenue alone.

How would you engage an executive customer when a strategic delivery is at risk?

I would promptly establish the facts, acknowledge the business impact, and present a credible recovery plan with owners, milestones, and decision points. I would maintain transparent executive communication while mobilizing the right technical and delivery leaders to resolve root causes and protect trust.

What metrics would you use to assess the health of a global Professional Services organization?

I would use revenue, gross margin, utilization, backlog, forecast accuracy, project delivery performance, customer satisfaction, time to value, employee retention, and delivery quality measures. I would review these by geography, service line, and customer segment to identify systemic issues and prioritize actions.
