Sample interview questions
How have you built and executed a multi-year growth strategy for a multinational strategic account?

I begin by mapping the account's global structure, decision-makers, regional business units, current footprint, and whitespace opportunities. I align an account plan to measurable expansion milestones, establish executive sponsorship, and review progress regularly with internal stakeholders to adapt the plan as conditions change.

Describe how you manage a complex sales cycle involving global and regional stakeholders with different priorities.

I create a stakeholder map that identifies economic buyers, champions, technical evaluators, procurement owners, and regional influencers. I tailor the value narrative to local priorities while maintaining one global business case, document mutual action plans, and use a consistent communication cadence to avoid regional misalignment.

How do you apply MEDDICC to an existing-account expansion opportunity?

I validate the measurable outcomes the expansion must achieve, identify the economic buyer and decision process, and confirm the customer's evaluation criteria. I also develop a champion, understand procurement and legal requirements, and continuously test whether the pain and proposed value are compelling enough to justify broader rollout.

What steps would you take when a global customer faces different procurement, regulatory, or data-residency requirements by region?

I would engage legal, security, finance, and product partners early to identify non-negotiable regional constraints and available solution options. I would then sequence the rollout appropriately, communicate trade-offs transparently, and preserve a unified commercial strategy while accommodating legitimate local requirements.

How do you maintain forecast accuracy when managing only a small number of very large opportunities?

I use evidence-based stage criteria, clear next steps, validated stakeholder commitments, and regular deal reviews rather than relying on optimism. Because each opportunity materially affects the forecast, I document risks, dependencies, and close-plan assumptions in the CRM and communicate changes early to leadership.

If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide.

About the Role

As a Global Account Director at Fieldguide, you’ll own the largest, most complex strategic accounts in our portfolio and be responsible for growing them across every region, subsidiary, and business unit where they operate. This is a deeply focused, white-glove role: rather than managing a portfolio or a territory, you’ll go all-in on a small number of accounts (big 4), becoming the internal and external expert on their business, structure, and long-term strategy.

You’ll run a global, multi-threaded account motion that spans regions, time zones, and stakeholder groups (regional practice leaders to global C-suite executives) while coordinating internally across a wide set of partners to deliver a coherent, unified experience for the account worldwide.

Taking a consultative, partner-first approach, you’ll guide these organizations through a broader shift in how audit and advisory work gets done globally, positioning Fieldguide as the platform of record across every geography they operate in.

This role reports to the Sr. Director of Sales and is fully remote within the U.S.

What You’ll Do

  • Own 1–3 named global strategic accounts end-to-end, serving as the single point of accountability for their growth and health worldwide.

  • Build and execute a multi-year global account strategy, mapping whitespace across regions, subsidiaries, and business units.

  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets tied to global expansion, not just a single region or entry point.

  • Build deep, trust-based relationships with global and regional decision-makers, understanding how each account’s structure, governance, and local nuances shape the path to expansion.

  • Develop and execute account strategy using the MEDDICC methodology, adapted for multi-region, multi-stakeholder deal cycles.

  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional and regional teams — Solutions, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success — to ensure a consistent account experience across every geography.

  • Navigate the added complexity of global deals: multiple procurement and legal processes, regional pricing and currency considerations, data residency requirements, and varying regulatory environments.

  • Present tailored solution walkthroughs to stakeholders across regions, adapting messaging to local market context while maintaining a unified global narrative.

  • Own the creation, ideation, and execution of comprehensive global account plans, shared and aligned with internal leadership.

  • Maintain rigorous CRM diligence, forecasting accuracy, and clear communication with internal stakeholders across all active regions of the account.

  • Represent Fieldguide at global and regional industry events tied to your accounts, deepening relationships and visibility within the account’s ecosystem.

  • Up to 30–40% travel, including international travel to support in-region relationships and meetings.

About You

  • 10+ years of sales experience, with a track record of owning and growing a small number of large, complex, multinational accounts rather than a broad territory.

  • Proven experience managing global or multi-region account relationships — including navigating different regional stakeholders, procurement processes, and business practices within a single account.

  • Experience working for and/or selling directly to audit, advisory, or assurance firms

  • Strong executive presence and the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders across geographies and cultures.

  • Exceptional project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to orchestrate long, multithreaded expansion cycles across regions and business units.

  • Demonstrated success driving whitespace expansion within existing accounts, not just net-new logo acquisition.

  • Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy and ownership over a small, high-stakes book of business.

  • Team player who collaborates effectively across internal teams (Solutions, BDRs, Finance, Product, Marketing, Customer Success, etc.) spanning multiple regions.

  • Motivated by depth over breadth — energized by going deep on a handful of accounts rather than managing a large portfolio.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience selling internationally or accounts with multinational footprint.
