Opportunity details

About this role.

Our mission at ŌURA is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We’ve helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager, Commercial Systems (Contract) to provide interim leadership of Commercial Systems within Commercial Operations during a period of transition. In this role, you will own the intake, prioritization, and delivery of initiatives that support our Commercial teams by working with Systems partner teams from across the organization. You will set direction and stay hands-on to keep programs moving, with a high degree of autonomy. This is a 3 month contract with potential for extension.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure the Commercial Systems roadmap reflects the highest-ROI work by running a clear intake and prioritization process, and saying “not now” to senior stakeholders when needed
  • Turn ambiguous business requests into clear, documented requirements that admins, engineers, and vendors can build against
  • Deliver multiple concurrent initiatives on time, from planning and dependency management through UAT, launch, and status reporting
  • Keep Commercial and cross-functional stakeholders aligned by resolving competing priorities and removing roadblocks
  • Keep the broader stakeholder group informed through consistent roadmap updates, status summaries, and timely escalations
  • Maintain continuity of in-flight work by inventorying active initiatives and stakeholders in your first weeks
  • Leave Commercial Systems more documented and easier to hand off than you found it, whether processes and decisions pass to returning team members or a permanent hire

This is a remote role based in the US.

What you’ll bring

  • 10+ years of related experience, including 3-5+ years running cross-functional programs or a systems or operations function
  • Has built or run an intake and ROI-based prioritization process, and can say “not now” to senior stakeholders and make it stick
  • Can run discovery with non-technical partners and turn vague asks into clear, documented requirements that engineers, admins, and vendors can act on
  • Has managed multiple concurrent initiatives end to end, including planning, dependencies, UAT, launches, and status reporting
  • Credible with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, CS, and/or Ops, and skilled at resolving competing priorities without formal authority
  • Strong written and executive communication, including roadmap updates, status summaries, and clear escalations
  • Self-directed, able to get oriented quickly

Nice to have:

  • RevOps or GTM systems background (CRM, CPQ, marketing automation, data and reporting)
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, NetSuite, or comparable systems
  • Experience managing vendors, agencies, or contract administrators
  • Prior interim, fractional, or consulting experience
  • Experience in a high-growth company where process is still being built

Sample interview questions
How would you establish an intake and prioritization process for a commercial systems team with competing executive requests?

I would define a standard intake template covering business objective, users affected, expected ROI, urgency, dependencies, risks, and effort. I would score requests transparently with agreed criteria, review them in a recurring governance forum, and publish roadmap decisions and rationale. This makes trade-offs visible and gives stakeholders a reliable path for reconsideration when conditions change.

Describe how you turn an ambiguous request from a non-technical stakeholder into build-ready requirements.

I start with discovery to understand the business problem, current workflow, desired outcome, success measures, users, and constraints. I document process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, data needs, integrations, and edge cases, then validate the material with both business owners and delivery partners. This alignment reduces rework and creates a clear basis for UAT and launch approval.

How would you manage several concurrent initiatives with shared dependencies in a three-month engagement?

I would quickly inventory all active work, owners, milestones, decisions, risks, and dependencies, then create a single prioritized delivery plan. I would use frequent operating reviews to address blockers early, maintain visible status reporting, and escalate only with a recommended decision and impact statement. I would also identify work that can be paused to protect the highest-value commitments.

Tell us about a time you had to say no to a senior stakeholder.

I explain the decision through agreed business criteria rather than personal preference, including opportunity cost, delivery capacity, dependencies, and expected impact. When possible, I offer alternatives such as a lower-effort interim solution, a later roadmap slot, or additional information needed for reassessment. This preserves the relationship while protecting the integrity of the prioritized roadmap.

What would your first 30 days in this interim Commercial Systems role look like?

I would meet key commercial, systems, and vendor partners; inventory in-flight initiatives; and assess the current roadmap, intake process, delivery risks, and documentation. I would confirm priorities and ownership with leadership, establish a predictable status and escalation cadence, and stabilize critical launches. By the end of the period, I would ensure decisions, processes, dependencies, and handoff materials are documented for the ongoing team.
