Opportunity details

About this role.

Our Mission

Rebuild how the world works, to make institutions work better for the people they serve.

About Brain Co.

Brain Co. builds AI-native operating systems for large, regulated institutions. Each system is built for a specific industry, powered by agents that push real workflows forward. Underneath it all is Atlas, our proprietary platform that keeps customers in control, secure by design, and never locked into one model.

Why Now

Brain Co. is entering its next phase of production deployments on a national scale with an elite team built from Palantir, Google, Meta, and Nvidia, and a growing footprint across government, insurance, health, and financial services.

Joining now means shaping both the company and a new category of applied AI. Every project here ships to production and is expected to create measurable customer value and impact.

You’ll work alongside exceptional peers on some of the hardest problems in applied AI. It’s the kind of work you’ll still be proud of in ten years from now.

About the Role

Build Brain Co.’s insurance business, from the first buyer conversation to a signed engagement. You’ll originate opportunities and lead consultative sales through close, working with the GM of Insurance, product, engineering and deployment teams.

Our priority markets are property & casualty & life & annuities and the workflows span complex underwriting, claims, distribution and core operational processes where agentic orchestration of people and data can dramatically improve speed, quality and business outcomes.

Why Brain Co.

You’ll help build the insurance business alongside the people developing and deploying the products. Your judgment will help determine which opportunities we pursue, how we win them and which recurring customer needs should shape the product.

Brain Co. builds AI systems that help large, regulated institutions carry out complex work. Our mission is to rebuild how the world works, to make institutions work better for the people they serve.

What you’ll own

  • Create demand. Help shape our pitch and narrative, open doors and build a pipeline through targeted outreach, executive and industry relationships, partners, conferences and events. Choose the right accounts, earn substantive meetings and turn follow-up into sales-qualified opportunities.

  • Discover and qualify. Convert marketing-generated and self-sourced leads into sales-qualified opportunities. Test the problem, economics, buyer, funding path and timing; know when to pursue, nurture or decline. Bring technical partners in early on data, security and implementation constraints.

  • Build the value case. Establish the customer’s baseline and agree what improvement matters. Build clear briefs and proposals, partner with product and deployment on tailored demonstrations, and test the economic assumptions.

  • Lead the deal through close. Coordinate buyer and internal teams through scoping, pricing, security and legal review, procurement and negotiation. Validate commitments with product and deployment owners, then carry agreed scope, success measures and assumptions into a clear delivery handoff.

  • Inform what gets built. Distill recurring prospect needs, buying signals, objections and product gaps into recommendations for product strategy and roadmap priorities.

  • Build a repeatable sales motion. Keep account plans and forecasts accurate, learn from wins and losses, and create materials and practices that improve the next pursuit.

What you’ll bring

  • 10+ years of relevant experience. You bring experience in enterprise sales, business development or management consulting, with direct accountability for originating opportunities and independently driving complex commercial engagements through close.

  • Complex multimillion-dollar closes. You’ve personally sold and closed custom technology deployments or tailored technology engagements, shaping bespoke solution scope, navigating implementation tradeoffs, building a quantified value case, negotiating contracts and aligning delivery commitments.

  • Insurance sales and domain depth. You’ve sold into insurance and can speak credibly about the industry’s operating models, workflows and buying processes. You bring deep expertise in at least one of our priority markets: property & casualty, life & annuities, or specialty insurance.

  • Practical AI and technical fluency. You use AI in your own work, verify its outputs and can discuss data, integrations, evaluation and human oversight with buyers and technical partners.

  • Commercial judgment and execution. You create access, write clearly, put compelling materials together and keep several pursuits moving. You lead across teams without formal authority and do the detailed work yourself.

Bonus Points for

  • Experience selling AI products. You’ve won business for AI products or solutions and understand how customers evaluate, buy and deploy them.

  • Entrepreneurship. Experience building commercial motion and trusted relationships in a 0-to-1 startup environment.

Sample interview questions
Describe a multimillion-dollar technology engagement you personally originated and closed in the insurance sector.

I would explain the account context, the insurer's operational problem, how I created executive access, and the quantified value case. I would detail how I aligned security, legal, procurement, and implementation stakeholders, negotiated the commercial terms, and ensured a clean handoff with documented scope and success measures.

How would you build an initial pipeline for Brain Co.'s insurance business?

I would segment target accounts by strategic fit, operational pain, technology readiness, and access to senior sponsors. I would combine executive outreach, trusted industry relationships, partners, and targeted events with tailored points of view on underwriting, claims, or distribution workflows, then rigorously qualify opportunities against business value, funding, timing, and implementation feasibility.

How do you develop a value case for an AI deployment in a regulated insurer?

I start by establishing a credible baseline for cycle time, cost, quality, leakage, service levels, or capacity constraints. I work with business and technical sponsors to validate assumptions, identify measurable improvements, account for implementation and governance requirements, and present a phased business case tied to agreed success metrics.

How do you address buyer concerns about AI reliability, data security, and human oversight?

I acknowledge the concerns directly and bring the appropriate technical partners into the conversation early. I focus on data controls, integration design, evaluation methods, auditability, role-based oversight, and clear boundaries for human review, while ensuring that proposed commitments match what the product and deployment teams can deliver.

What would make you decline or nurture an opportunity rather than actively pursue it?

I would step back when the problem is not material, the economic case is weak, there is no credible executive sponsor or funding path, implementation constraints are unresolved, or the timeline is unlikely to support a successful deployment. I would nurture accounts with strategic fit but insufficient readiness, maintaining useful engagement until the relevant trigger or priority emerges.
