Sample interview questions
How would you build a test strategy for a new game-client feature?

I would first clarify functional rules, supported devices and browsers, integrations, acceptance criteria, and key risks. I would then create traceable test cases covering happy paths, edge cases, regression impact, UI behavior, API interactions, and exploratory testing, prioritizing scenarios by player and business impact.

How do you investigate an intermittent defect in a client/server game application?

I collect reproducible evidence such as environment details, timestamps, browser or device data, logs, network requests, account state, and video captures. I vary one condition at a time, compare successful and failed runs, and provide developers with concise steps, expected and actual results, severity, and supporting artifacts.

What is your approach to cross-browser and mobile testing?

I use a risk-based device and browser matrix based on player usage, supported platforms, and feature complexity. I validate layout, touch interactions, performance, compatibility, orientation, network behavior, and browser-specific issues using real devices or services such as BrowserStack.

How have you used automation knowledge in a primarily manual QA role?

I use automation knowledge to identify stable, repeatable regression checks that are good candidates for automation and to collaborate effectively with automation engineers. I can review test coverage, investigate failed CI runs, and use frameworks such as Selenium or Playwright to support quality validation.

How do you keep test documentation useful in an agile environment with frequent changes?

I keep documentation concise, risk-focused, and linked to user stories and acceptance criteria. I update affected test cases during refinement and sprint work, remove obsolete steps, and communicate significant coverage or risk changes early to the team.
