Sample interview questions
Describe a large-scale international event you managed from planning through post-event reporting.

I would explain the event objectives, audience, budget, timeline, workstreams, vendor structure, and risk plan. I would quantify outcomes such as attendance, satisfaction, budget performance, leads, or engagement, then describe lessons incorporated into future events.

How do you manage several concurrent events with competing deadlines and changing priorities?

I use a portfolio-level plan that maps milestones, owners, dependencies, budgets, and decision deadlines for every programme. I run regular status reviews, escalate material risks early, and re-prioritize resources transparently with stakeholders when business needs change.

How would you ensure consistent quality when working with agencies and suppliers across regions?

I would establish clear scopes of work, detailed production briefs, service-level expectations, approval gates, and shared reporting templates. I would also maintain regular check-ins, conduct site or production reviews where needed, and document post-event feedback for vendor performance management.

Tell us about a time you resolved a major issue during an event.

I would use a structured example showing rapid assessment, communication with the affected teams, activation of a contingency plan, and protection of the attendee experience. I would emphasize calm decision-making, clear ownership, and a post-event review to prevent recurrence.

How do you balance creative event experiences with budget and operational constraints?

I start with the audience and business objective, then prioritize high-impact elements that reinforce the event narrative. I assess concepts against cost, feasibility, risk, accessibility, and measurable outcomes, using supplier negotiations and scalable formats to preserve quality within budget.
