The role, in a nutshell:

Chainguard is looking for an Enterprise Account Executive to expand our footprint within large organizations. You’ll own the full sales cycle with enterprise customers — from building pipeline to closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals — and help some of the world’s biggest companies build and secure software the right way.

The best candidates run a disciplined sales process, generate their own pipeline, and are comfortable navigating long enterprise buying cycles involving technical, security, and executive stakeholders. You’ll partner closely with Sales Engineering, Customer Engineering, and Marketing to drive evaluations forward and win.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting through close
  • Build and manage pipeline across a defined set of enterprise accounts
  • Lead discovery, qualification, and deal strategy using frameworks like MEDDPICC
  • Communicate Chainguard’s value to technical stakeholders, security leaders, and executive buyers
  • Partner with Sales Engineering and Customer Engineering to run technical evaluations and validation
  • Manage complex sales cycles, including procurement, security review, and negotiation
  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting
  • Consistently meet or exceed revenue and pipeline targets

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years selling complex technical products into enterprise organizations
  • Must be bilingual in Portuguese and English
  • A track record of building your own pipeline and consistently closing revenue
  • Fluency in a disciplined enterprise sales methodology (MEDDPICC or similar)
  • Skill identifying customer pain and selling on measurable business value
  • Experience navigating multi-stakeholder enterprise buying cycles, from technical teams to executives
  • Strong deal management and forecast discipline across complex, concurrent opportunities
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
  • Comfort operating in a fast-growing environment with evolving processes

Sample interview questions
How do you build pipeline in a new enterprise territory?

I start by segmenting target accounts by fit, security maturity, and likely business triggers. I map technical, security, and executive stakeholders, use tailored outreach based on relevant pain points, and maintain a consistent multi-channel prospecting cadence. I review conversion data weekly to focus effort on the segments and messages producing qualified opportunities.

Describe how you use MEDDPICC in a complex sales process.

I use MEDDPICC as a living qualification framework rather than a checklist. Early in a deal, I validate measurable business outcomes, identify the economic buyer and decision process, map decision criteria, and uncover pain and compelling events. I regularly update gaps with the account team so that risks are addressed before forecasting the opportunity as commit.

How would you communicate Chainguard's value to a security leader and an engineering leader?

For a security leader, I would focus on reducing software supply-chain risk, improving compliance posture, and lowering the operational burden of vulnerability remediation. For engineering leaders, I would connect the value to trusted production-ready open-source components, faster development, and fewer interruptions caused by security issues. In both cases, I would validate the message against their current environment and quantify the operational impact.

Tell us about your approach to managing a multi-stakeholder enterprise deal.

I create a stakeholder map that identifies champions, technical evaluators, economic buyers, legal and procurement contacts, and potential blockers. I establish a mutual action plan with clear milestones for evaluation, security review, commercial alignment, and approvals. Regular internal deal reviews keep the team aligned and ensure technical, business, and procurement concerns are handled proactively.

How do you maintain accurate forecasts while working several complex opportunities?

I base forecasts on verifiable customer actions, confirmed next steps, deal-stage exit criteria, and identified decision processes rather than optimism. I document risks, close plans, and stakeholder changes in the CRM immediately after meaningful interactions. This enables transparent pipeline reviews and allows me to distinguish early pipeline from opportunities with a credible path to close.
