About this role.
The Role We Need
PadSplit is looking for a Member Sales Manager to build and lead the sales engine that turns prospective renters into PadSplit members. As we grow, we need someone who can increase bookings, improve conversion, and manage the cost of acquiring each member while ensuring our member growth keeps pace with our host growth. This person will own the process, performance, and people responsible for delivering those results.
The Person We Are Looking For
We’re looking for a proven sales leader who knows how to build, manage, and scale a high-volume inside sales team. You’re equally comfortable developing a repeatable sales process, managing performance through data, and rolling up your sleeves to coach agents and work alongside the team. You’re an owner who sets clear expectations, holds people accountable, and isn’t afraid to make changes when the results aren’t there.
Here’s What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day
- Sales Playbook: Build and continuously improve the member acquisition process, including call scripts, objection handling, follow-up cadences, and lead routing from first contact through move-in.
- Speed to Lead: Establish response-time expectations and lead coverage strategies that ensure prospective members receive timely outreach across the hours and time zones we serve.
- Team Performance: Establish daily and weekly activity and booking targets, maintain a transparent performance scoreboard, and hold agents accountable for delivering results.
- Sales Coaching: Review call recordings, provide actionable feedback, coach agents on specific behaviors, and step in to demonstrate effective selling when needed.
- Conversion Optimization: Analyze lead quality, connection rates, conversion rates, and cost per booking to identify opportunities and continuously improve sales performance.
- Data & Reporting: Establish reliable reporting and attribution across lead sources, agent performance, and bookings while identifying opportunities to automate manual processes.
- Team Development: Hire, train, develop, and manage a high-performing sales team, making timely performance decisions and determining when additional headcount is justified.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Sales Leadership, Sales Ops, Product, Marketing, Member Experience
Here’s What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Sales Leadership: 5+ years of experience in inside sales, high-volume outbound sales, or contact center leadership, including at least 2 years managing a team of 15 or more.
- Proven Results: A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets through team performance, with measurable results you can speak to.
- Process Building: Experience building or rebuilding sales cadences, lead routing models, service-level agreements (SLAs), and incentive structures.
- Remote Leadership: Experience managing, developing, and holding distributed, remote, or offshore sales teams accountable.
- Funnel Analytics: Strong understanding of sales funnel metrics, including time to contact, connection rates, conversion rates, and cost per booking, with the ability to translate data into action.
- Coaching Expertise: Experience coaching sales representatives using call recordings, performance data, and specific behavioral feedback.
- Sales Technology: Comfort working with CRMs and sales or support platforms such as HubSpot, Zendesk, or Intercom, building reports, and leveraging tools such as power dialers and sales engagement platforms.
- Ownership & Adaptability: A hands-on, data-driven leadership style, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate in an evolving environment, make decisions quickly, and adjust strategies based on results.

Sample interview questions
I would first baseline current response times by source, time block, and agent coverage. Then I would define SLAs, align staffing and lead-routing rules to demand patterns, automate alerts and assignment where possible, and review compliance daily until performance is stable.
I would segment the funnel by lead source, agent, contact attempt, geography, and stage to isolate where conversion changed. I would then review call recordings and lead quality, test targeted changes to scripts or routing, and measure the impact against a clear control period.
I use objective performance data and call evidence to identify one or two specific behaviors affecting outcomes. I agree on a short improvement plan with measurable targets, provide modeling and regular feedback, and make a timely performance decision if progress does not occur.
I would include lead volume, speed to first contact, connection rate, contact-to-application rate, application-to-booking conversion, bookings, cost per booking, activity volume, agent-level performance, and results by source. The dashboard should make trends and bottlenecks actionable rather than merely report totals.
I would evaluate demand forecasts, lead coverage gaps, SLA attainment, agent capacity, conversion performance, and the expected incremental cost per booking. I would only recommend hiring when current process and productivity constraints are understood and the added capacity has a clear business case.
