I am Natalya Meduntseva, currently finishing a Master’s degree in Astrophysics and Cosmology at Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna, Italy. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where I developed a strong foundation in theoretical and experimental physics. Throughout my studies, I have been deeply involved in research projects, including my thesis on chemical complexity in young protostellar disks, which is part of the FAUST ALMA Large Program.
My passion for astrophysics is complemented by my skills in data science and scientific computing. I am proficient in Python, R, SQL, MATLAB, and other tools essential for data analysis and visualization. I have applied these skills in various research roles, including my current position as a Senior Laboratory Assistant, where I conduct high-precision R&D analysis and contribute to national programs on plant resource growth and climate change modeling.
In addition to my research experience, I have worked as a Systems Engineering Assistant, optimizing laboratory information systems and implementing digital strategies to improve supply chain management. This role has enhanced my ability to bridge technical IT infrastructure with scientific requirements, ensuring efficient and secure data management.
I have also gained teaching experience through an internship at the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics, where I facilitated seminars and developed interactive learning resources. This experience strengthened my communication skills and my ability to engage students in complex scientific topics.
My academic and professional journey is supported by several honors and grants, including scholarships and participation in international conferences and summer schools. I am fluent in Russian and English, with intermediate skills in Kazakh and Italian, and beginner knowledge of Japanese. I am committed to advancing my expertise in astrophysics and contributing to impactful scientific research.
