Senior Software Engineer

I am a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience building and shipping scalable backend, cloud, and machine-learning systems for fintech and health-tech companies. I specialize in AWS, Python, Java, and modern distributed architectures, and I enjoy working on systems that need both strong engineering rigor and measurable business impact.

I have led and contributed to event-driven microservices, regulatory-grade data pipelines, and production ML solutions. My work has included backend services, real-time APIs, WebSockets, data modeling, ETL pipelines, and cloud infrastructure across AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD environments.

I am also a co-founder and technical lead of a live credit-risk analytics SaaS product. In that role, I own the full stack end-to-end, including backend services, a React/TypeScript frontend, AWS infrastructure, and deployment automation. I focus on reliability, determinism, performance optimization, and scalable architecture.

In my recent roles, I have built automated regulatory reporting systems for a major Latin American investment bank and production ML systems for health-insurance claims prioritization. I have worked on high-volume data processing, model evaluation, calibration, and systems that must remain accurate, fast, and auditable in production.

I am comfortable working across the stack and across the lifecycle of a product, from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and monitoring. I have experience with Python, Java, TypeScript, FastAPI, Spring Boot, React, PostgreSQL, AWS services, and machine-learning tools such as CatBoost, XGBoost, PyTorch, RAG, and LLM-based workflows.

I am based in Bogotá, Colombia, and I am open to remote opportunities with US/EU overlap. I speak Spanish natively and English at a C1 level, and I am looking for roles where I can contribute to backend engineering, cloud systems, and applied machine learning.
