About the role
The Paralegal Team Lead needs to be an exceptional leader and a cooperative team player. The Team Lead must supervise the other paralegals, monitor the work production of the support staff, and identify and engage in ways to improve efficiency.
Payrate: 10$/hr (40 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST
What you’ll do
1. Supervise and manage a team of Court Team paralegals by providing guidance, support, performance evaluations and management, and payroll to ensure high levels of productivity and morale
2. Create and execute training and development plans for new hires and current team members
3. Attend leadership meetings with up-to-date information on key performance indicators (KPIs), the status of projects, and overall work product of the Court paralegal team
4. Develop and document procedures for new case types as the firm expands its practice areas
5. Oversee and ensure that team members are completing a thorough review of all case information that is returned and identifying opportunities/inconsistencies that require attorneysβ attention
6. Serve as the primary point of escalation for reviewing or processing Court Team requests that are highly complex, unique or unusual
7. Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by management
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities)
1. Highschool diploma or equivalent
2. Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or related field or paralegal certificationβ―preferred. Relevant experience as an immigration paralegal in a law firm may be substituted for the degree requirement
3. Prior experience with 1 or more of the following immigration fields a plus, VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, Asylum, Medical DA, I-601, Adjustment of Status, DS-260, DS-160
4. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and procedures and experience utilizing these in an immigration setting
5. Advanced computer skills (Proficient with MS Office or similar programs including Adobe, Dropbox, Salesforce, Document Managements, etc.)
6. Possesses excellent English interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, bilingual in Spanish preferred
7. Positive attitude with ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
8. Excellent analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills
9. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, results driven environment
10. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferredβ―
