Specialty Testing Customer Service Support Representative, Billing (REMOTE)
Pay Range:Β $15.50-$20.00 per hour
Schedule/Shift:Β Monday-Friday 8:30am-6:00pm EST

Labcorp Specialty Testing team has an exciting career opportunity for a Customer Service Support Representative. Reporting to the Specialty Testing Customer Service Support Supervisor, this fast-paced work-from-home position is part of a dedicated team responsible for providing assistance to patients and clients to better understand health insurance coverage, cost and payment options and to answer billing questions over the phone.Β
Responsibilities:Β
Ability to work in a high call volume environment, averaging ~75 calls per day from patients, doctorβs offices and/or private insurance carriersΒ
Ability to research and communicate complex information in a clear/concise mannerΒ
Ability to navigate and work on multiple systems/websites simultaneously.Β
Provide assistance to clients and patients, regarding any questions or inquiries related to insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and/or billingΒ
Collaborate with other departments to resolve reimbursement opportunitiesΒ
Receive and process credit card payments over the phone, adhering to PCI compliance protocols
Initiate payment plans for patients for outstanding balancesΒ
Document telephone conversations clearly and accurately in the respective systemsΒ
Update and maintain records in the billing system, including the review of accounts, payment collections and case noteΒ
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines/regulationsΒ
Assist with other duties as assignedΒ
Qualifications:Β Β
Associates degree with at least 1+ year prior relevant work experience OR High School diploma/GED equivalent with at least 3 +years of relevant work experienceΒ
Prior Healthcare experience strongly preferred with strong preference givenβ―to professional medical billing and collection practices
Ability to interpret and apply understanding of insurance explanation of benefits (EOB)β―strongly preferred
Previous customer service experience handling high call volume strongly preferred
Medicare/Medicaid billing experience preferred
Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes strongly preferred
Experience with Laboratory Billing and Laboratory Information System (LIS)Β preferred
Working knowledge of prior authorization preferred
Understanding of Womenβs Health & Genetics Moms Helping Moms of Tomorrow processes preferredΒ
XIFIN experience preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Β
Other desired skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow established program protocols and procedures
Ability to review large amounts of data for accuracy
Must be organized and detail-oriented
Computer proficiency – MS Windows, MS Office, and database experience

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerΒ
Remote Technical Requirements:Β
Internet speed of at least 50 megabytes per secondΒ
Ability to connect equipment to router/modem with Ethernet cordΒ
Equipment cannot be connected through Wi-Fi or satellite internet
