Key Skills

Robotics Automation Mechanical Assembly Hand Tools System Integration Troubleshooting Safety Standards Deployment Commissioning Manufacturing

I am writing to express my strong interest in the Robotics Automation Technician position at Formic. With a background in mechanical assembly and a passion for automation, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to your mission of reshaping American manufacturing.

In my previous role, I gained hands-on experience with hand tools and mechanical systems, which aligns with the requirements of this position. I am eager to learn and grow into more advanced technical responsibilities, and I am comfortable working in physically active environments.

I am particularly drawn to Formic's Robotics-as-a-Service model and the chance to work on real-world deployments across multiple industries. I am confident that my attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures will ensure high-quality system integration.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how I can support your team in delivering automation solutions to manufacturers.

Can you describe a time when you had to assemble or repair a mechanical system? What steps did you take?
In a previous role, I assembled a conveyor system for a packaging line. I followed the manufacturer's instructions, used hand tools to secure components, and double-checked alignments. When a belt was misaligned, I adjusted the tensioner and verified proper operation.
How do you ensure safety when working with tools and equipment?
I always wear appropriate PPE, inspect tools before use, and follow lockout/tagout procedures. I also keep my workspace clean and organized to prevent tripping hazards.
Why are you interested in a career in robotics and automation?
I am fascinated by how robotics can improve efficiency and safety in manufacturing. I want to be part of the technology that helps US factories stay competitive, and I enjoy hands-on work.
Describe a situation where you had to troubleshoot a problem with a machine or system. How did you approach it?
Once, a packaging machine stopped working. I checked the power supply, sensors, and mechanical linkages. I found a disconnected wire, reconnected it, and tested the system to confirm it was working.
How do you handle working in a team, especially when you need to ask for help?
I believe in clear communication. If I'm unsure, I ask questions early to avoid mistakes. I also share updates with my team and offer help when others need it.
