Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Electrical Engineer position at MANTECH. With over 5 years of experience designing and analyzing electrical systems for specialized marine vessels, I am confident in my ability to support Military Sealift Command's engineering needs. My background includes preparing complex load analyses, protective device coordination studies, and developing Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) in compliance with regulatory standards.

I thrive in collaborative environments and have a proven track record of working with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and reliable electrical plant operations. My proficiency with SKM, AutoCAD, and MathCAD, combined with my active Secret clearance, makes me a strong fit for this remote role.

I am eager to contribute to MANTECH's mission of safeguarding our nation through innovative solutions. Thank you for considering my application.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Can you describe your experience with electrical load analysis and protective device coordination for marine vessels?
I have prepared numerous electrical load analyses and coordination studies for Expeditionary Fast Transport and Dry Cargo ships. Using SKM, I performed fault current calculations and ensured protective devices were properly rated for selective coordination.
How do you ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as USCG or ABS in your designs?
I stay updated on the latest standards and incorporate requirements from the start. For example, in a recent T-AKE project, I collaborated with regulatory bodies to validate FMEA and PSTP, ensuring all systems met Coast Guard approval.
Describe a challenging problem you solved related to shipboard electrical systems.
While troubleshooting a propulsion control system on a T-AO, I identified a grounding issue that caused intermittent faults. I conducted a systematic analysis, coordinated with the automation team, and implemented a filter solution that restored reliability.
How do you manage collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in a remote environment?
I use regular virtual meetings, shared documentation, and clear communication channels. For instance, during a sea trial preparation, I coordinated with design, operations, and Navy clients via Teams, resolving issues promptly.
Why are you interested in working for MANTECH and supporting the Military Sealift Command?
I am passionate about defense technology and want to contribute to national security. MANTECH's reputation for innovative solutions and the opportunity to support MSC's mission align with my career goals and expertise.
