Key Skills

Data Engineering Cloud Architecture Pre-Sales Customer Engagement Spark Python Machine Learning Big Data Solutions Architecture Technical Leadership

I am excited to apply for the Senior Solutions Architect position at Databricks. With over 7 years of customer-facing technical experience, I have successfully led complex engagements and built trusted relationships with C-level executives. My expertise in Python, cloud platforms, and data architectures aligns perfectly with the requirements of this role. I am eager to contribute to Databricks' mission of making data accessible and impactful.

Describe a time you influenced a C-level executive to adopt a technical solution.
At my previous company, I convinced the CIO to migrate our data warehouse to the cloud by presenting a cost-benefit analysis and a proof-of-concept that reduced query times by 50%. I built a strong business case and addressed security concerns, leading to a successful adoption.
How do you handle a competitive situation during a sales cycle?
I focus on understanding the customer's unique pain points and demonstrate how our solution specifically addresses them. I also highlight total cost of ownership and long-term value, while staying updated on competitor weaknesses to differentiate effectively.
Explain how you would architect a data pipeline for a large enterprise customer.
I would start by understanding data sources, volume, and latency requirements. Then design a scalable pipeline using Databricks for processing, Delta Lake for storage, and orchestration tools like Airflow. I ensure data governance and security are integrated from the start.
How do you stay updated with new technologies in the data space?
I regularly attend industry conferences, take online courses, and participate in technical communities like Spark and Kafka meetups. I also allocate time for hands-on experimentation with new tools to understand their practical applications.
Can you walk me through how you would conduct a proof of concept for a potential client?
I start by identifying the client's primary business challenge and key success metrics. Then I design a focused PoC that addresses that challenge using real data, ensuring rapid iteration and clear communication of results. I involve the client's technical team to build buy-in and provide a roadmap for production deployment.
