Key Skills

Solutions Engineering APIs Microservices Cloud Architecture Artificial Intelligence Financial Services Client Engagement Data Integration Compliance AI-enabled Decisioning

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the Solutions Engineer position at Experian. With a strong background in solution architecture and client engagement, I have successfully designed and deployed AI-enabled decisioning platforms for financial institutions. My experience includes leading discovery sessions, translating complex requirements into scalable API-driven solutions, and ensuring compliance with regulations like FCRA and FACTA.

I am particularly drawn to Experian's commitment to leveraging data and AI to unlock opportunities. In my previous role, I increased platform adoption by 30% through tailored demos and workshops. I am confident in my ability to drive revenue enablement and deliver innovative solutions for your clients.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my skills align with your team's goals.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Describe a time you translated a client's complex business requirement into a technical solution design. What steps did you take?
I once worked with a bank that needed real-time fraud detection. I led discovery sessions to understand their data sources and decisioning needs. I designed a solution using microservices and an AI model on AWS, including APIs for transaction scoring. I coordinated with engineering and compliance to ensure FCRA alignment, and we delivered a solution that reduced false positives by 20%.
How do you approach explaining AI capabilities to non-technical stakeholders?
I focus on outcomes rather than algorithms. For example, I explain AI as a tool to automate decisions like loan approvals. I use analogies and visuals to simplify concepts. In a recent workshop, I demonstrated a LLM-based chatbot handling customer queries, highlighting improved response time. This helps executives understand value without technical jargon.
Tell me about a time you managed a solution implementation from start to finish. How did you handle challenges?
I led a deployment of a decisioning platform for a credit union. During integration, data quality issues arose. I worked with their team to establish a cleansing process and adjusted the API mapping. I also set up daily standups to track progress and communicated updates to stakeholders. The project was delivered on time, and the solution scaled to handle 10,000 transactions per day.
What experience do you have with security and compliance in financial services?
I have ensured solutions comply with FCRA, FACTA, and data protection laws. For example, I implemented IAM controls and audit trails for a fraud detection system. I also worked with legal to document data usage and obtain necessary certifications. This ensures clients meet regulatory requirements and reduces risk.
How do you stay updated on new technologies, especially in AI and cloud?
I regularly attend webinars and read industry blogs like AWS architecture center and OpenAI’s research. I also experiment with new tools in sandbox environments. Recently, I built a prototype using AWS SageMaker to automate model updates, which I later incorporated into a client proposal. Continuous learning helps me propose innovative solutions.

Job Description

Experian is looking for a Solutions Engineer who combines technical depth with client engagement skills to increase adoption of the Bureau Composer platform. This is a client-facing role at the intersection of solution architecture, AI-enabled decisioning, and revenue enablement.

You will partner directly with clients, sales, and our teams to design scalable, data-driven solutions. These solutions address complex challenges across credit, fraud, identity, and decisioning use cases, with relevance to financial institutions.

We ask that you have applied AI experience and the ability to position AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and requirements sessions with clients to define goals, technical requirements, data needs, and solution scope
  • Translate client needs into end-to-end solution designs using APIs, microservices, cloud infrastructure, data integration patterns, and AI-enabled workflows
  • Design and deliver scalable implementations using the Bureau Composer platform, including real-time decisioning workflows and both standard and custom solutions
  • Lead our client-facing solution delivery lifecycle including implementation planning, technical design leadership, and coordination across engineering, QA, DevOps, compliance, and project teams
  • Conduct technical presentations, demos, and workshops tailored to executive, business, and technical audiences
  • Support deployment, integration, and troubleshooting to ensure successful production rollout and ongoing solution optimization
  • Partner with sales and product teams to identify expansion opportunities, support solution strategy, and increase incremental revenue
  • Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and data governance requirements, including FCRA, FACTA, IAM, explainability, and data protection considerations
  • Build and improve reusable solution patterns, accelerators, and technical strategies to support scale and consistency across implementations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Solution Architecture, Technical Consulting, or a similar client-facing technical role
  • Demonstrated AI literacy with practical experience applying AI concepts, automation workflows, or enterprise AI use cases in business solutions
  • Discuss and position AI-enabled capabilities, including LLM-based workflows or intelligent automation, without needing to code or build models directly
  • Client interface experience, including leading discovery sessions, presenting technical solutions, and influencing executive and non-technical partners
  • Experience designing or supporting API-first, microservices-based, and cloud-enabled solution architectures
  • Working knowledge of security, data governance, and regulatory requirements including IAM, data protection
  • Experience working with financial institutions or in financial services environments where decisioning, risk, fraud, identity, or compliance considerations are important

Extras

  • Experience in credit, fraud, identity, decisioning, risk analytics, or related financial services domains
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms and modern data architecture concepts
  • Working knowledge of SQL, data analysis, BI/reporting tools, or troubleshooting techniques used to validate solution performance
  • Experience supporting pre-sales, solution consulting, or post-sales implementation engagements
  • Experience working with product, engineering, compliance, and go-to-market teams
  • Working knowledge of FCRA, and FACTA regulatory requirements
