I am writing to express my interest in the Senior DevOps Engineer position at Zartis. With over 5 years of experience in cloud engineering and a deep expertise in AWS serverless architectures, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the Health platform.

My background includes designing and scaling infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and Terraform, and streamlining CI/CD pipelines with Bitbucket. I am passionate about building reliable, secure systems that directly impact patient outcomes, and I value collaboration in high-trust distributed teams.

I look forward to the possibility of joining Zartis to drive meaningful healthcare innovation.

Describe your experience with AWS CDK and how you have used it to manage infrastructure.
I have extensively used AWS CDK with TypeScript to define cloud resources as code, enabling version control and automated deployments. For example, I designed a multi-environment architecture using CDK stacks, which reduced manual configuration errors by 40%.
How do you ensure security and compliance in a healthcare cloud environment?
I implement least-privilege IAM policies, encrypt data at rest and in transit, and use AWS Config rules to enforce compliance. Regular audits and monitoring with CloudTrail and Amazon GuardDuty help maintain HIPAA alignment.
Explain a time you optimized a CI/CD pipeline for faster deployments.
I rearchitected a Bitbucket pipeline to use parallel stages and build caching, cutting deployment time from 25 minutes to 8 minutes. This was achieved by splitting tests and leveraging Docker layer caching.
How do you approach designing a highly available serverless architecture?
I design with multi-AZ deployments, auto-scaling Lambda functions, and DynamoDB global tables for disaster recovery. I also implement circuit breakers and retry logic to handle transient failures.
Describe a challenging production incident you resolved and what you learned.
A sudden spike in API Gateway traffic caused Lambda throttling. I quickly identified the bottleneck by analyzing CloudWatch metrics and increased concurrency limits while implementing a rate-limiting queue. This taught me the importance of proactive monitoring and capacity planning.

Senior DevOps Engineer

The company and our mission:

Zartis is a global AI transformation and technology consulting partner where talented engineers and technologists work on cutting edge innovation. We partner with ambitious organizations to design, build, and scale technology solutions that deliver real impact.

Our teams bring deep expertise in AI driven platforms, secure API architectures, and cloud native engineering. You will work on meaningful projects that accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, from strategy and discovery through to full product delivery, helping turn complex challenges into measurable outcomes.

With engineering hubs across EMEA and LATAM, and long term partnerships in financial services, healthcare and life sciences, and energy and climate, we offer opportunities to work on projects that truly matter. Here, you will not just build technology, you will drive business impact and grow your career alongside industry leaders.

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to work on a project in the Health industry.

The project:

Our teammates are talented people that come from a variety of backgrounds. We’re committed to building an inclusive culture based on trust and innovation.

You will be part of a small, high-trust distributed engineering team building and evolving the Health platform — a suite of telehealth products that power virtual consultations, patient journeys, and clinical workflows at scale. The platform is built on a modern serverless architecture using AWS, and the team places a strong emphasis on clean code, developer experience, and engineering craft. The team operates on Eastern Time, and we expect reasonable timezone overlap for daily stand-ups and engineering meetings.

This is a high-impact role in a space where the quality of your work directly affects patient outcomes. We are looking for an engineer who takes ownership, thinks holistically about systems, and brings both technical depth and collaborative energy to the team.

What you will do:

  • Design and Scale Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK and Terraform.

  • Advance Serverless Architecture: Optimize and evolve the modern serverless infrastructure powering the Health platform, focusing on performance, high availability, and clean architectural patterns.

  • Streamline CI/CD Pipelines: Own and optimize deployment workflows using Bitbucket Pipelines, driving excellent developer experience, automation, and rapid, safe release cycles.

  • Incorporate Infrastructure Development: Write clean, production-grade infrastructure code using TypeScript, aligning infrastructure definitions closely with application logic.

  • Collaborate in a High-Trust Environment: Partner closely with a distributed engineering team to turn complex technical challenges into measurable healthcare product outcomes, participating in Eastern Time zone syncs.

  • Maintain Security & Compliance: Ensure the platform adheres to rigid healthcare data security standards, implementing robust monitoring, logging, and identity management across AWS services.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Engineering roles, with a strong background in software development.

  • Deep AWS Expertise: Proven track record of building and managing production-grade environments, specifically focusing on AWS serverless components (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).

  • Strong IaC Core: Advanced proficiency with AWS CDK and Terraform to manage complex, multi-environment cloud footprints.

  • Development Background: Solid coding skills in TypeScript or JavaScript, enabling you to treat infrastructure as software and contribute to tooling or automation scripts.

  • CI/CD Ownership: Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and automating deployment infrastructure using Bitbucket and its native pipeline capabilities.

  • Systemic Thinker: An engineering mindset that prioritizes clean code, developer experience, system observability, and high-trust collaboration.

Nice to have:

  • Healthcare Domain Experience: Prior experience working on HIPAA-compliant systems, telehealth products, or digital health platforms.

  • Advanced Serverless Patterns: Experience optimizing cold starts, event-driven microservices, or complex data workflows within AWS.

  • Multi-Cloud or Hybrid tooling: Familiarity navigating environments that bridge standard Terraform-managed resources with specialized CDK constructs.

  • Distributed Team Experience: Proven success working asynchronously across remote hubs in EMEA and LATAM.

What we offer:

  • 100% Remote Work

  • WFH allowance: Monthly payment as financial support for remote working.

  • Career Growth: We have established a career development program accessible for all employees with a 360º feedback that will help us to guide you in your career progression.

  • Training: For Tech training at Zartis, you have time allocated during the week at your disposal. You can request from a variety of options, such as online courses (from Pluralsight and Educative.io, for example), English classes, books, conferences, and events.

  • Mentoring Program: You can become a mentor in Zartis or you can receive mentorship, or both.

  • Zartis Wellbeing Hub (Kara Connect): A platform that provides sessions with a range of specialists, including mental health professionals, nutritionists, physiotherapists, fitness coaches, and webinars with such professionals as well.

  • Multicultural working environment: We organize tech events, webinars, parties, and activities to do online team-building games and contests.
