Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the CI Lean Leader position at TE Connectivity. With over 10 years of experience in continuous improvement and business transformation, I have successfully led Lean Six Sigma initiatives in global matrix organizations. My expertise includes driving Kaizen events, VSM workshops, and deploying process excellence frameworks that deliver tangible results.

I hold a Master's degree in Engineering and am a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. I have a proven track record of mentoring teams, building problem-solving cultures, and managing cross-functional projects to improve efficiency and profitability.

I am particularly drawn to TE's commitment to creating a safer, sustainable world and would be thrilled to contribute to your TEOA Business System. Thank you for considering my application.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Can you describe a time when you led a major Lean transformation in a global matrix organization? What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
I led a Lean transformation across three manufacturing sites in Europe and Asia. The main challenge was aligning local cultures and standardizing processes. I established a cross-regional steering committee, conducted VSM workshops, and implemented a tiered training structure. We achieved a 20% reduction in lead time and a 15% cost savings within 18 months.
How do you prioritize improvement initiatives when resources are limited?
I use a combination of Hoshin Kanri and value stream mapping to align improvements with strategic priorities. I also evaluate potential impact versus effort using a matrix. I engage stakeholders to ensure buy-in and focus on quick wins to build momentum while planning longer-term projects.
Describe your approach to mentoring and developing a team of continuous improvement professionals.
I believe in 'building an army of problem solvers.' I establish a structured training program that combines classroom learning with hands-on Kaizen events. I assess individual strengths and create personalized development plans. Regular coaching and recognition are key to fostering a Kaizen culture.
How do you handle resistance to change when implementing new processes?
I start by understanding the root cause of resistance, often through one-on-one conversations. I communicate the 'why' clearly, using data to show benefits. I also involve resisters in the design process to give them ownership. Celebrating early successes helps build confidence and buy-in.
Can you give an example of how you used data and metrics to drive a process improvement?
At my previous company, we had high order fulfillment cycle times. I analyzed the end-to-end process data, identified bottlenecks in quotation and order handoff. Using DMAIC, we implemented a digital dashboard for real-time tracking and standardized handoff procedures. Cycle time reduced by 25%.

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.
