Cover letter sample

Dear Hiring Team,

I am excited to apply for the Account Executive role at SiteMinder. With SaaS sales experience, fluent German communication skills, and a consultative approach to discovery, demos, and negotiation, I can help hotel owners understand the commercial value of SiteMinder’s platform.

I am comfortable owning a full sales cycle, maintaining accurate CRM data, and consistently working toward ambitious activity and revenue targets. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute a resilient, customer-focused mindset to SiteMinder’s collaborative sales team.

Thank you for your consideration; I look forward to discussing how I can support your growth in the German-speaking market.

Sample interview questions
How would you run a discovery call with a hotel owner who is unfamiliar with SiteMinder?

I begin by researching the property type, market, current booking channels, and likely operational challenges. In discovery, I use open questions to understand occupancy, distribution, revenue-management, and workflow priorities, then connect the product’s capabilities to measurable business outcomes before agreeing on next steps.

Describe your approach to managing a full sales cycle from outreach through close.

I would prepare a concise value case based on the prospect’s stated needs, quantify the cost of inaction where possible, and clarify stakeholders, timeline, and decision criteria early. I would follow a structured cadence across phone, email, and relevant content, updating the CRM after each interaction and asking directly for the next commitment.

How do you handle a prospect who says the solution is too expensive?

I would first understand the underlying concern rather than immediately discounting. I would restate the objection, demonstrate the relevant value and expected outcomes, explore implementation or budget constraints, and involve the appropriate internal resources when needed; if pricing remains an issue, I would focus on the best-fit commercial option while protecting margin.

What would you do if you were behind your monthly sales target?

I treat targets as a controllable operating rhythm by monitoring leading indicators such as calls, conversations, qualified opportunities, demos, conversion rates, and follow-up timing. If I am behind plan, I diagnose the weakest stage of the funnel, increase focused activity, seek coaching, and test improvements rather than waiting until the end of the month.

How do you ensure CRM data supports accurate pipeline management and forecasting?

I keep CRM records current immediately after calls and meetings, including contact details, discovery notes, qualification, deal stage, next steps, and close dates. Clean data helps me prioritize my pipeline accurately, forecast responsibly, and ensure a smooth handoff for customers and internal teams.
