Cover letter sample
Dear Hiring Team,
I am excited to apply for the Technical Lead role at Masabi. My background combines hands-on mobile engineering with technical delivery leadership, including architecture, API and SDK integrations, code review, and production release management.
I have experience supporting engineers through coaching, clear feedback, and collaborative planning while maintaining accountability for quality and predictable delivery. Masabi’s mission to make public transit more accessible strongly resonates with me, and I would welcome the opportunity to help evolve the Passenger Apps platform across iOS, Android, and web.
Thank you for your consideration. I would value the opportunity to discuss how my technical leadership and people-management experience can support Masabi’s teams and customers.
Sample interview questions
I would reserve predictable time for 1:1s, planning, delivery risk management, and coaching, while selecting technical work with high leverage such as architecture, complex integrations, and code reviews. Clear ownership, lightweight delivery rituals, and delegated decision-making help protect both leadership and engineering time.
I would begin by mapping shared versus tenant-specific behavior, dependencies, compatibility risks, and success metrics. I would use phased rollout plans, feature flags where appropriate, automated regression coverage, pilot customers, and clear rollback procedures so that migrations can be validated without disrupting all tenants at once.
I would establish clear integration contracts, error-handling and observability standards, security reviews, and representative end-to-end test scenarios. I would also use code reviews and release checklists to verify version compatibility, offline or degraded-network behavior, analytics, and customer-specific configuration.
I communicate early, factually, and with options. I explain the impact, likelihood, affected scope, and proposed mitigation, then align stakeholders on the decision needed, such as reducing scope, sequencing work differently, adding support, or adjusting release timing.
I use them to accelerate routine tasks such as drafting tests, summarizing unfamiliar code, exploring implementation alternatives, and improving documentation. Outputs remain subject to engineering judgment, code review, security checks, licensing awareness, and the same automated testing standards as any manually written change.
