I create mechanisms such as design reviews, written decision records, clear interfaces, and regular coaching so the team can move independently with sound judgment. My hands-on work is intentional and temporary, focused on unblocking critical paths, raising standards, and helping others become stronger owners.
I would start with narrowly scoped, high-value workflows and define success measures around correctness, user trust, completion quality, and time saved. Agents should operate with transparent plans, inspectable diffs, strong permission boundaries, and easy rollback rather than making opaque changes. I would pair evaluation datasets and human feedback with production telemetry, expanding autonomy only after the system demonstrates reliable performance.

We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team building code-native Webflow: a high-fidelity code representation that moves seamlessly between visual and code-based workflows, so developers can work directly in code and trust nothing gets lost coming back. This foundation also powers a new class of coding agents that understand and modify the same underlying system.
This is a player-coach role: you’ll grow an exceptional team while staying close to the technical work: shaping architecture, resolving hard design decisions, and contributing directly when it helps the team move faster.

- The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We’ve structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.

This role is also eligible to participate in Webflow’s company-wide bonus program. Target amounts are a percentage of base salary and vary by career level. Payouts are based on company performance against established financial and operational goals.

As a Senior Engineering Manager you’ll:
- Set the technical and product direction for making Webflow code-native, including high-fidelity round-tripping between visual and code surfaces
- Lead the integration of coding agents into the Webflow building experience
- Own the developer experience of working with Webflow in code, from core primitives and APIs to tooling and feedback loops
- Turn an emerging problem space into a coherent roadmap, sequencing foundational platform work with customer-facing capabilities
- Partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams across Webflow
- Stay technically engaged through architecture, design reviews, prototyping, and hands-on contribution where it has the most leverage
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers while building a high-performing technical culture
About you:

- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
You’ll thrive as a Senior Manager, Engineering if you:
- Have 4+ years experience leading engineering teams building developer products, platforms, or technically complex product surfaces
- Have strong enough technical depth in areas like compilers, code generation, language tooling, IDEs, or developer infrastructure to actively shape architecture
- Have experience building with AI or agentic systems, or demonstrated ability to get deep in the space quickly
- Have a track record of turning ambiguous technical problems into systems that customers can actually use
- Are comfortable balancing long-term architecture with the pressure to ship and learn
- Have a leadership style that combines high technical standards with strong coaching and team development
