Ironclad is hiring a senior, customer-facing Enterprise Architect to define and realize business and technical architectures for its AI-powered contract lifecycle management platform. The role spans pre-sales, deployment, and ongoing customer advisory work, partnering closely with sales, product, engineering, customer success, implementation teams, and external partners. The architect will design integrations across cloud, CRM, ERP, procurement, ITSM, identity, security, and analytics systems while aligning solutions to business processes such as procure-to-pay and quote-to-cash. Success requires 8+ years of architecture experience, strong consultative communication, enterprise integration and security expertise, and practical familiarity with AI/LLM configuration, prompt design, and evaluation.

I would then produce a target architecture covering Salesforce and SAP integration flows, Okta-based authentication and provisioning, data governance, event and API patterns, error handling, observability, and warehouse analytics. Finally, I would phase delivery around high-value use cases, validate assumptions through workshops and prototypes, and establish governance for long-term evolution.
I first clarify the business outcome behind the customization request and assess whether configuration, process redesign, integration, or product capability is the best answer. I favor standard platform patterns and reusable integration designs to reduce operational risk, upgrade friction, and support cost. When customization is justified, I document trade-offs, security implications, ownership, and an exit strategy so the customer can make an informed decision.
I would prioritize data classification, least-privilege access, strong identity controls, secure API authentication, encryption in transit and at rest, auditability, and retention requirements. I would also assess integration middleware, secrets management, logging exposure, third-party access, and regional or industry compliance obligations. The architecture should include clear ownership, monitoring, incident-response paths, and periodic access reviews.
I tailor the narrative to the audience while keeping one consistent decision framework. For executives, I focus on business value, risk, implementation sequencing, cost, and measurable outcomes; for technical teams, I provide system context, integration patterns, assumptions, nonfunctional requirements, and operational details. I use concise diagrams and workshops to confirm understanding and document decisions, trade-offs, and accountable owners.
I would define the workflow's intended decision or assistance outcome, acceptable error thresholds, user controls, data boundaries, and escalation paths before selecting prompts or models. I would create representative evaluation cases, measure accuracy, consistency, latency, security, and business impact, and test failure modes such as hallucination or sensitive-data leakage. I would then implement human review where appropriate, monitoring and feedback loops, version control for prompts, and governance for ongoing improvement.

Define, evangelize and realize the business and technical architectures that maximize success for Ironclad, its customers and its partners.
Sr. Enterprise Architects at Ironclad are customer-facing advisors on both technical and business architecture. They wield deep and broad technical expertise with real-world solutions, marry this with business strategy experience and consultative skills, and serve as trusted advisors to our customers across our relationship with them, from pre-sales to deployment to operations.
As an Enterprise Architect at Ironclad, you’ll work cross-functionally with our sales, product, engineering and customer success teams to architect solutions based on the business goals of our customers, our partners and Ironclad. What You Will Be Doing:
Engage with prospective customers to understand their overall goals and advise on solutions involving the Ironclad platform and their enterprise systems that deliver value.
Advise Ironclad, customer and partner implementation teams on high-value architecture practices, either as a billable resource or as a strategic investment in customer success.
Engage with customers in a variety of modes, including ad hoc collaborative sessions, structured workshops, and as part of a deployment project team.
Develop and nurture long-term advisory relationships with our larger customers and partners, from the executive stakeholder level downwards, to ensure long-term value of Ironclad-based architectures within their business contexts.
Develop on-the-ground intelligence for the Ironclad product team on business and technical drivers that should influence our product roadmap.
Share your expertise through various Ironclad content channels, providing guidance on solution patterns for common system/process/business contexts.
What We Look For:
• B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent
• 8+ years experience in either software, system, or enterprise architecture.
• Deep understanding and direct experience with cloud architecture and modern platform concepts including SaaS, PaaS, cross-cloud data and process integration, multi-tenancy, etc.
• Knowledge of enterprise systems that intersect with digital contracting processes, such as the examples below:
• CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Hubspot, etc.)Procurement and ERP systems (e.g., Coupa, Oracle Fusion, SAP, Workday, etc.)ITSM systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)Security/Trust/Risk systems (e.g., OneTrust, ProcessUnity, etc.)Data visualization systems (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)IdPs (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, OneLogin, etc.)
• Knowledge of enterprise business processes (e.g., procure-to-pay, quote-to-cash, etc.) that intersect with digital contracting processes.
• Solid understanding of enterprise application integration technologies (e.g., event-based integration, RESTful concepts, middleware approaches, etc.)
• Experience with tools and techniques for enabling analytics, data-based insights, artificial intelligence.
• Experience with common enterprise architecture principles such as persona-based journeys, process orchestration, master data management, etc.
• Good understanding of security processes, regulations, standards & challenges involved in cloud or hybrid applications
• Articulate, consultative and pragmatic approach with mature written and verbal communication skills
