Core skills

Sample interview questions
How would you prioritize features across the Funnels and Workflows roadmaps?

I would begin with customer discovery and usage data to identify the highest-value monetization problems, then score opportunities by expected customer impact, strategic fit, reach, confidence, effort, and technical dependencies. I would make trade-offs visible and align the roadmap with measurable outcomes such as conversion, retention, incremental revenue, and adoption.

Describe how you would evaluate whether a new paywall-orchestration workflow is successful.

I would define a clear hypothesis and establish guardrail metrics before launch. Core measures would include workflow activation, eligible-user coverage, paywall conversion lift, subscriber retention, incremental revenue, and statistical confidence, segmented by customer type and traffic source. I would also monitor latency, error rates, and customer setup friction.

How do you work effectively with engineers on a technically complex product?

I seek to understand system constraints, APIs, data models, failure modes, and implementation trade-offs early rather than treating engineering as a handoff function. I bring customer context and outcomes, collaborate on feasible solutions, and use prototypes or lightweight technical investigation to reduce ambiguity before delivery.

Tell us about a time data changed your product decision.

In a strong example, I would explain the original hypothesis, the analysis method, and the unexpected behavioral pattern revealed by the data. I would show how I adjusted the roadmap or experiment, communicated the decision, and measured the resulting improvement in a business or user outcome.

How would you gather insight from customers while avoiding overbuilding for individual requests?

I would use interviews to understand the underlying job, workflow, and success criteria rather than simply collecting feature requests. I would validate patterns across segments, combine qualitative evidence with product data, and prioritize extensible primitives that solve repeated customer needs while preserving a coherent product strategy.

RevenueCat removes the headaches of building and scaling in‑app subscriptions. Since graduating from YC’s S18 batch we’ve grown into the default monetization platform for mobile: we’re in >40% of newly shipped subscription apps, we process $12B+ in annual purchase volume, and we help everyone from a solo dev in Brazil to the OpenAI mobile team understand and grow their revenue.

We’re a remote‑first crew of 150+, spread across 25+ countries, and guided by values we actually practice: Customer Obsession, Always Be Shipping, Own It, and Balance. If you want your work to touch hundreds of millions of end‑users (and help the developers behind them get paid), you’ll fit right in.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy for our Funnels and Workflows products.

We need a producty-engineer or an engineering-y product manager to lead the product vision in a highly technical, experimentation-driven domain where UX choices, growth tactics, and analytics all compound.

RevenueCat is the monetization engine for 40% of the new subscription apps shipped. For most of those apps, Workflows and Funnels will be the products that actually do the monetizing: automating paywall decisions, running win-back and lifecycle campaigns, and turning web traffic into paying subscribers.

We can, and should, be opinionated about what RevenueCat’s developers should try next to help them make more money. We’re building the “Make More Money Machine”.

You’ll lead two of RevenueCat’s highest-leverage growth surfaces. Workflows will be the orchestration engine that lets developers trigger paywalls, win-back offers, and lifecycle campaigns based on real subscriber behavior. Funnels is our web2app product that turns web traffic into paying mobile subscribers, opening up an entirely new acquisition channel for our customers.

You’ll partner directly with leadership, collaborate across engineering and data teams, and act as the primary driver for how our customers convert, retain, and grow their subscriber base.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for RevenueCat’s new Workflows and Funnels products.

  • Be obsessed with your customers. Speak to prospective customers to understand their use cases deeply, and identify the feature gaps blocking adoption. Coordinate with existing customers to unblock them and help them earn more money. Triage and investigate problems proactively, instead of fully delegating to engineering. Dig into what growth teams actually want and the challenges they face, and understand why these products are a crucial instrument in any modern app’s growth toolkit.

  • Recommend, develop, and maintain new features that deliver value that truly matters, enabling customers to easily spin up compelling experiences, understand the results, and iterate quickly.

  • Set the vision. Create a plan that is cohesive, intentional, and impactful. Break it down into meaningful chunks on a reasonable timeline.

  • Get it done. Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and GTM teams to bring these growth tools to market. This job cannot be done alone, and will require deep understanding of the individual products and the infrastructure that connects them.

About you:

  • You have 5+ years of product management or technical product engineering experience or analytics experience, with meaningful time growing mobile apps.

  • You’re analytical. You can’t do your job without data platform access. You are highly proficient in SQL (or similar tools) — whatever tool you need to know, you’ll learn. You love getting deep on the data analysis on your own. You’re experienced in developing robust and scalable metrics.

  • You are technical. Coding is not a core requirement for this role, being able to prototype with code is (using your preferred AI stack). You can deeply understand how RevenueCat works — what is simple and what is complex within our domain. Maybe you haven’t built and shipped a mobile app yourself (yet) but you have enough knowledge to work closely and independently with highly technical folks. You can discuss APIs, data models, and risk logic with engineering partners and enjoy diving into system details

  • You’re an excellent communicator. You can express complex ideas clearly and succinctly — written and verbal, synchronous and asynchronous, across timezones and mediums. You can get your point across.

What we offer:

  • Competitive equity in a fast-growing, Series C startup backed by top-tier investors, including Y Combinator

  • 10-year window to exercise vested equity options

  • Fully remote and flexible work environment

  • 4-5 weeks of suggested time off annually for mental, physical, and emotional recharge

  • $2,000 USD for workspace setup and $1,000 USD annual stipend for continuous learning
